Just read the article that was linked about this and it says you have to have been in the country legally for 2yrs or more to be eligible for this program. Not sure where the idea is that illegals can get into this at all.

note to self to digest this later. And after that Ft. Hood terrorist (yes, terrorist) who had been in the military for years, they do this.

I’ll just add that there have been documented cases of JEWISH folks with these language skills (e.g., those who spoke Arabic) being turned down or ignored for employment in federal programs requesting these skills. I don’t think the LANGUAGE is the issue. (And yes, I’m aware that this comment is non-PC.)

note to Sjackson: possibly for your ping list since this will definitely affect your region of interest!

The secret is in the fine print. “Asylum Seekers” are eligible.

So Mohammad finishes Terrorist 101 Training in Iran, gets to Mexico, wades the river, turns self in as an “Asylum Seeker.” It takes years to get an adjudication on these cases, and while the appeal is underway, they are “legal.”

Trust me, they have learned to game the system.

The head line states "Immigrants without a green card but who have specific language or medical skills get a big incentive to enlist".

I suspect the immigrants is used very loosely here. The article most likely refers to "temporary immigrants" (/sarc) i.e. students, and guest workers. Both of these types of visas present security risks in the military since there is no security screening associated with them and they have been used by Muslim terrorists in the past.
