ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said she cut short her Hawaii vacation because of paparazzi, who photographed her wearing a sun visor with the name of John McCain blacked out.
The pictures were circulated widely on the Internet with speculation the redaction was a slight against McCain, but Palin said she meant no disrespect to her former GOP running mate.
"In an attempt to 'go incognito,' I Sharpied the logo out on my sun visor so photographers would be less likely to recognize me and bother my kids or other vacationers," Palin said in a statement.

I know, this was the lamest story I have heard all week and I have heard some pretty lame ones. She didn’t go to Hawaii to promote her book, she was relaxing with her family, her children. She can wear whatever she damn well pleases, and yet they make a fuss about a stupid hat, it wasn’t even a good looking hat. I don’t care what she was wearing, what she wears is her business, not mine and it shouldn’t be anyone elses. No one even knew she was going to Hawaii, geez can’t people just leave her alone. They leave Tiger Woods alone but not Sarah Palin. She was NEVER bashing McCain, if people look at the hat they will see that HER name was scribbled out too

If anything, she should run for the Presidency, just so she could have some peace and quiet, should she win. The Secret Service would certainly keep the gawkers and paparazzi at bay.

She should go to Hawaii when Obama goes. That way, the media hypocrisy is exposed in NOT covering him, but covering her.

Palin had better learn fast on dealing with the media. As a media poltical celebrity, she lost her right to privacy.
Palin could easily have the same problems as Erin Andrews while traveling.
I bet the paparazzi was hoping to photograph Palin in a bikini. Since she didn’t wear a swimsuit on the beach, they had to settle for making the visor into a news story.

Sarah needs to demand Secret Service protection for herself and her family.
No disrespect to you but why “sadly”? Sarah and Todd’s boy Trig is a beautiful baby and look healthy. As a grandfather to two healthy boys I say why not show the world this gift to the all!

They are more courteous to Tiger Woods and they leave him alone. I hear he plays golf at night because he doesn’t want to be seen. I haven’t seen any photos being taken of him, but they have to follow Sarah on vacation with her children and ruin her vacation. She didn’t tell anyone she was going there yet the roaches found her anyway. It’s sad, of course she knows the press is gonna follow her wherever she goes but she did not think they are such empty heads they would make a fuss about a hat. Look at the hat, she scribbled out her name too, which of course the media does not mention. Slow news day I guess
