"Before we start opening presents, here's a question: Who knew Copenhagen was in Mongolia? For the Danish capital is this week the site of one of history's more gigantic Mongolian Cluster, ah, Foulups...
So - our first present is from Hillary Clinton, who has "electrified" all the warmists freezing in Copenhagen (it snowed several inches there yesterday and temps are at record lows) with her "pledge" of $100 billion in payoffs to Third World beggars.
I swear, reading the morning news these days is so much funnier than any comedy skit on SNL. Almost every story is so cluelessly hilarious, and the headline on Hillary gets an even bigger belly-laugh than normal.
The press and the beggars hail her as a hero, not reading her fine print. The offer, you see, is "conditional" upon China accepting international verification of the emission cuts they say they will make. It's right out of Reagan's "trust but verify" playbook.
Hillary knows that Congress will never give her the $100 bil, but she doesn't care because she also knows China will reject the now famous MRV formula of "measurable, reportable, and verifiable" emission cuts. So she comes out of the Copenhagen Debacle rose-perfumed, China the spoiler villain, and Zero looking like a failed schmuck yet again. (Didn't he learn his lesson when he went to Copenhagen the last time to plead for a Chicago Olympics?)
As her popularity will now soar ever higher over Zero, realize that all of this is by her design. She has two goals: either be on the Supreme Court or in the Oval Office. She knows she has no chance for SCOTUS after 2010, Senate verification being impossible with a Dem minority or much-reduced majority.
She can't wait for 2016 as she'll be almost 70, and she can't keep the public's attention on her that long anyway. Nope, folks, she's going for 2012. After the Dem disaster next November, she will fix all the blame for it on Zero, resign as Secretary of State, announce her candidacy, beat Zero in the primaries (if he doesn't pull a LBJ and drop out), and be the Dem nominee.
So the next President of the United States will be a woman - because it will be Sarah Palin vs. Hillary Clinton in 2012."
