Storm expected to bring 20+ inches of snow to Northeast (Obama saves us from Global Warming)
CNN ^ | 12/19/2009 | CNN

Frigid East Coast states already blanketed with snow will get pummeled again Saturday, with more than 20 inches predicted in some areas.

Blizzard and winter storm warnings were in effect Saturday for metropolitan areas including Washington; Baltimore, Maryland; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm comes at a pivotal time for Washington, an area that is expected to be walloped by as much as 22 inches of snow. The Senate is scheduled to have a vote on a defense spending bill Saturday morning.

The vote will clear the way for the Senate to continue the contentious battle over the health care reform bill. But wintry conditions could delay commutes for lawmakers Saturday.

Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty said the city will be enacting a snow emergency plan, which will include 750 staff members working around the clock and 330 trucks out on the streets.

Irony is so, well, ironic. And in this case, sweetly so.

As Limbaugh said yesterday, “God has a sense of humor”. Believe he said it in relation to Crapenhagen, but why not Washington?

In office less than a year, and simply by announcing that the EPA will regulate CO2, Zero has stopped Man Made Global Warming.

Thank goodness for President Zero.

Now where is my Obama-Money?

It's a miracle. I heard the Pope was passing out Sainthood's this morning and I wonder if Obama will swing by the Vatican to pick his up?

My niece was lucky to get a flight out of NY this morning - she’s almost home for the holidays.

Woke up here in central MD, west of Baltimore, to at least 6 inches on the ground and no end in sight. I’m not due back in to work until Wednesday, so I can relax a bit and just watch it fall. As saturated as the ground here is already, snow melt is likely to cause the creek to rise again - I’m glad I’m on high ground!

I’m sure Monday will bring the common refrain “Non-essential government workers ordered to stay home.” Maybe the Senators will obey.

All local meteorologists are absolutely predicting this will be the worst December storm in Washington, DC ever. They are saying everybody should stay off of the road.

Meanwhile, Harry Reid is forcing employees of the United States Senate and the U.S. Capitol to risk their lives and work today. These are people who work for a paycheck and pay their bills just like everybody else.

Instead of being at home with their families, they have to travel out on the roads and go to the Capitol downtown just so they can provide the security, cleaning, food service, etc. because Harry Reid can’t wait to destroy the health care system.

Philly is getting 1-2 inches per hour. I live further south-east of Philly and we are suppose to get worse than them.

We have 6 inches right now. The heavy stuff is not suppose to hit until 12 hours from now.

The road crews just did their first plowing of the road in front of my house.

Might be a good idea to draw water in case the electricity goes out.

Blizzard warning has just been extended to cover the entire Washington, DC area instead of just a few counties in Maryland.

you wont believe this but i am in Samoa, mid Pacific Ocean, summer here, NO its not snowing, but this has to be the coldest Xmas i ever seen, breeze is blowing the curtains through the louvres, usually right now we find it hard to sleep finding a cool breeze to ease hot balmy nights, but im almost tempted to pull out the doona.
The breeze has a nice chill to it, a blessing for me.
