Circle 15 April on your calendars and go to DC for the taxpayer revolt (Tea Party Express). NO EXCUSES. Also check tea party express website and find out if there’s a tea party coming near you. Call all candidates for 2010 and determine if they will fight to repeal the OBAMACARE bill before it can start. Contribute to fiscally conservative candidates’ campaigns regardless of what state their from. Continue to call, write, email your rep and give them the pink slip. Hold a town hall meeting (without the reps) or invite people in your neighborhood or community to a coffee klatch (is that a word?. Advertise it in the paper. Get their ideas for action. My “coffee klatch” starts in January. Ya gotta keep fighting.

If we don't pay taxes, the tyrants don't last a month. Maybe we go to jail, maybe there aren't enough jails and no tax money to pay the guards anyway. Maybe we're such sheep we have to do it legally, and actually render ourselves destitute so we don't HAVE to pay taxes. Or maybe we just know what needs to be done, and we go away grieved because we don't want to make any real sacrifices for the land where our fathers died.

Read through all of those and then get back to me about changing the direction of our country through the ballot box. Pardon me though if I don’t show a lot of enthusiasm for the prospect. There was a time when Bush II was in office, that we questioned whether or not we’d ever see another election. We did and the media voted for Obama. What we also got was Rahm “never-let-a-good-crisis-go-to-waste” Emanuel and Eric “whitewash” Holder. That pair, in harness with Pelosi and Reid, have dragged our ship of state out of the shallows and onto the rocks. This has all happened in such a manner as to make many of us believe they have some sort of crisis planned which will enable them to suspend the Constitution. They tried to push the Swine Flu pandemic as a crisis but it fizzled. They’ve repeatedly referred to patriots as “terrorists.” Tea partiers became ‘tea baggers’ and massive grassroots demonstrations were branded as “astroturf.”
I don’t know what will happen but I think it would be stupid of us to assume that everything will be alright simply because it always has been. A smarter and better man than I once said “I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past.” Studying the past endeavors of men I see a great many parallels with what is happening now. I’m not encouraged. I believe this once-great country has been hollowed out by traitors and ‘useful idiots’ until it is only a shell of what it was. A strong wind will blow it over and we will be left in the rubble, scratching to live at a subsistence level. An east wind is rising and those who we elected to protect us are opening the windows. It is now up to us to protect ourselves and our country.
