Let's face it FRiends, if the unconstitutional healthcare bill passes, the socialist coup d'etat will have advanced well beyond the point of no return!

The People need to remind Congress they are not the government. The people are the government and will have the final say! We need to remind ourselves and them of the following passage in Declaration of Independence:

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Sounds like we have marching orders.

maybe everyone should print out this and mail it to congress and the white house?
getting a few million of these should make some impact I would think?

Or even better send them to a news agency!

The constitution has not failed, the people have. When the government will not willingly restrain itself within its legal bounds, then its the duty of the people to enforce the constitution and restrain the government.

While it is true that the constitution, as it was intended, has not failed, its vagueness did fail us. Liberals have, for the last 100 years or so, been able to take advantage of some of thw wording to justify and rationalize their social agenda. "General welfare" and regulation of commerce between the states have been abused to the point that, the federal government is now in the driver's seat when it comes to overruling anything that the states might or would want to do. Thus, the federal government is now the government which the founding fathers feared when they created our nations and the original constitution.

The separation of powers and the balance between the three major branches of government, does not exist anymore. The Supreme Court is basically powerless to judge the constitutionality of anything done by congress or the president. As it stands, the court cannot do anything unless a case is brought before them. That is where the constitution failed. The Supreme Court should have a division which automatically takes up the issue of whether any new bill or legislation violates any part of the constitution and the amendments to it. That Supreme Court division should be directly answerable to the people, and the congress and the president might be represented only as defendants.

But, it may already be too late to undo any damage to the constitution and to our rights.
