I think you are exactly right. What’s another 25% more than “more money than you’ll ever need” worth? Staying married to a crawling creep? NO WAI.
What is the current price or going rate for a person’s soul? Or is a soul priceless?
Florida law? The ill-fated couple have a home in California, too. The soon to be ex-Mrs. Woods has already hired a high powered divorce attorney in The Golden State......she’ll get a much better pay-off in California and she knows it.
Having a home in California won’t cut it. They need to be CA “residents” and that they are not.
I don’t know that his earning power is diminished permanently.. but.
Elin needs to weigh what she is willing to put up with to take a risk that affects the rest of her family..
Ask the house and the senate. They know.
What’s the point of any legal agreement if the courts can nullify it after the fact?
$55 mil for two years. I’d say that’s the most expensive hooker ever. Plus, he probably won’t be getting any.
I think she’s got her eyes on more than a mere $50 million, hence her exploring filing for divorce in California.
Validity depends on the laws governing pre-nuptial agreements. California's laws strictly control what a pre-nup can and can't protect. Since Tiger was dumb enough to buy a house in that state then she's got a chance to try for divorce where the laws favor her over the legal agreement.
Woods owns a house in California. He's lived in California. He's paid California taxes on winnings earned in the state. A person can be considered a California resident if they are outside California for a "temporary or transitory" purpose but still maintain a domicile in the state. The definition of 'temporary or transitory' is open to interpretation, and you can count on her divorce lawyer to take full advantage of that gray area.
Don't discount the revenge factor. She may be pissed enough to want to hurt him in the only way that matters - take him to the financial cleaners.
Fifty million and climbing rapidly.
Well, you can have him, I don’t want him,
He didn’t love me anyway.
He only wanted someone to play with
But all I wanted was love to stay.
Well, you get stuck with the wrong man
There’s only one thing that you can do:
Just dig a hole and jump right in it,
And pull the ground right over you.
If Elie’s going to make a break, she should best make it a clean break. Divorce is a firm statement. Staying married for money would cheapen her position - in some ways she would be the same as Tiger’s mistresses.
She should have no trouble finding another mate.....can’t say the same about Magic Johnson’s ex.
an attorney is incapable of comprehending the concept of principal over money
It means continuing to be married to him, when she could be free. And it wouldn't impoverish him - he has plenty - it would just lower her to the level of the whores he's been spending his time with.
Take your contract payout, Elin, take your kids, walk away and don't look back. There's a decent life out there.
True, but the have not tried this case yet.
