Huckabee will hold Omaha rally [Sunday, to protest Ben Nelson]

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is headed to Nebraska.

Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, will headline an Omaha rally Sunday afternoon to try to persuade U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson to change his mind on health care reform.

The rally will be at 3 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium Music Hall, 17th Street and Capitol Avenue. Doors will open at 2 p.m.

The rally was put together quickly Saturday after Nelson, a Nebraska Democrat, said he would support a health-care reform bill in the Senate.

Republican U.S. Rep. Lee Terry of Omaha is expected to attend, as well as state lawmakers and other elected officials.

The rally is being sponsored by Americans for Prosperity of Nebraska, a group opposed to President Barack Obama's health-care reform efforts.

People wishing to attend can RSVP at 402-219-3485 or email kurt.hammond@asphq.org

Who’s going to, also, protest Huckabee? No more RINOs!

From Politico:

From: Governor Mike Huckabee
Sent: Sat Dec 19 20:20:46 2009
Subject: I Am Headed To Nebraska Tomorrow

Huck PAC Newsletter

I am sorry to send you this email so late this evening but things are moving quickly and I need your help to stop the Senate Health Care bill.

First, in case you haven’t heard, Nebraska Democrat, Senator Ben Nelson has caved in his opposition to the Senate Health Care bill. Nelson’s surrender paves the way for Senate passage of the bill sometime this week. Tomorrow morning I am headed to Omaha, Nebraska to headline a rally later in the day demanding Senator Nelson switch his vote back to NO.

The rally will be held at the Omaha Music Hall, 17th and Capitol. Doors open at 2 PM. Rally starts at 3 PM.

Other participants will include Congressman Terry, Auditor Foley, Senators McCoy, Fulton, Krist, Price and Lautenbaugh.

If you live nearby or have friends or family that do, please tell them about the rally.

I am sending this email to my entire list and I know that most of you reading it do not live anywhere near Omaha but are fighting mad about this and want to do something.

Here is an immediate way to help.

Tomorrow when I attend the rally I want to be able to say to everyone there that overnight 25,000 Americans signed my petition to Senator Nelson asking him to JUST SAY NO and that they are standing together with everyone at the rally. My hope is that we will collect a total of 100,000 signatures before the final Senate vote.

Will you sign this petition now? And then forward this email to your contacts list and ask them to do the same?

Help me collect 25,000 signatures overnight. I will post updates from tomorrow from Nebraska at http://www.huckpac.com.

In the meantime, please sign my petition today.

Fighting to stop Obama-care,

Mike Huckabee

To get anything done in Washington, you gotta sleep with all sorts of people you’d rather not even shake hands with.

There is a time and place to protest Huck’s record, but I dont think this is it. He’s on the right side on this issue.

It’s Huckabee’s exhortations against Reid’s thirty pieces of silver. I’m not optimistic about the outcome.

Huck who? Is this a real effort to change an outcome that has already been determined or an effort to make himself relevant again? When they have 60 votes of their own and a couple more of ours if needed, what are the chances of success? A successful outcome for Huck would be a favorable reaction in Iowa.

It won’t hurt to tell people how they are getting screwed and by whom, but if the Dems cared one whit about what the people thought, they would have scrubbed Obamacare long ago.

All right, here is an idea for political theater.

The bribe Nelson took is worth a pittance, it is $45 million for a decade, or $4.5 million/year. Since there are 1.78 million Nebraskans, that is $2.53/yr per Cornhusker. Less than a phony $3 bill.

Meanwhile, because of Nelson, Nebraskans will see their medical premiums go up per year by thousands.

So, at this rally, the attendees can give their $3 back to Nelson, to tell him that Cornhuskers don't sell their freedom for $3.

A bag is passed through the crowd, and everyone puts in three $1 bills. These bags collected, and then the bags go in search of Nelson. The idea is to dump the money in front of him while the camera records his reaction. "Here's your money back, Senator. Nebraskans don't want it."

If Nelson dares show his face in Nebraska, every which way he turns, people proffer him $3. $3 is waved at him as his car goes by. At the airport he is surrounded with people holding out $3. "Please take it Senator, we don't want it." His office is deluged with $1 bill dumps. There are good visuals, and a story, like when Dan Rostenkowski was chased by the angry seniors.

Good plan waving 3 bucks in front of his face. :) Huck going up there is worth a shot. I’m signing the petition.

"There is a time and place to protest Huck’s record, but I dont think this is it. He’s on the right side on this issue."

Email Ben Nelson and tell him he is on the wrong side of history. I did. It may not make much of a difference but it will let him know he is a traitor if he votes for this travisty for what that is worth.

Like the idea except that what’s needed is an actual phony $3 bill, kinda like the “pink slips” being sent to Congress..... get Nebraskans to flood Nelson’s offices with phony $3 bills to emphasize that what he sold out for isn’t *real* anyway (b/c as you note Nebraskans lose so much more).

It is only the devil (who is stepping up his love for abortion) that would cause people to criticize Mike Huckabee in *his* effort to do everything he can to stop Americans from killing their young. Huckabee made his views be known on national television -- and is one of the strongest pro-life politicians that I am aware of -- when he stated on Meet the Press, through the late [and tough!] Tim Russert on 12-30-07:

RUSSERT: Some Americans believe that life does not begin at conception, and that it's...
HUCKABEE: Well, scientifically I think that's almost...
RUSSERT: But...
HUCKABEE: ...a point that you couldn't argue. How, how could you say that life doesn't begin at conception...
RUSSERT: Right. Do you respect that view?
HUCKABEE: ...biologically?
RUSSERT: Do you respect that view?
HUCKABEE: I respect it as a view, but I don't think it has biological credibility.
RUSSERT: And what would happen to doctors or women who participated in abortion?
HUCKABEE: It's always the, the point of trying to say, "Are you going to criminalize it?" That's not the issue.
RUSSERT: Well, if it, if it's illegal, it would be.
HUCKABEE: It would be. And I think you don't punish the woman, first of all, because it's not about--I consider her a victim, not a, not a criminal. You would...
RUSSERT: But you would punish the doctor.
HUCKABEE: I think if a doctor knowingly took the life of an unborn child for money, and that's why he was doing it, yeah, I think you would, you would find some way to sanction that doctor. I don't know that you'd put him in prison, but there's something to me untoward about a person who has committed himself to healing people and to making people alive who would take money to take an innocent life and to make that life dead. There's something that just doesn't ring true about the purpose of medical practice when the first rule of the Hippocratic Oath is "First, do no harm." Well, if you take the life and suction out the pieces of an unborn child for no reason than its inconvenience to the mother, I don't think you've lived up to your Hippocratic Oath of doing no harm.

[emphasis, mine] [Link]

If you believe Huck is a RINO, that's all fine and well. Don't vote for the man. But what he's doing here is good for all babies not yet born, not to mention their mothers who live in sorrow for the rest of their lives over their stupid (demonic inspired) decision to abort. God love Mike Huckabee (and his wife!) for the love he has for our littlest of peoples.

Good for Huck on this one, he is high profile and any pressure he can help put on Nelson can’t hurt. Dark days.

We are at the brink of total destruction of our families. Please join Mike Huckabee,
through prayer if you can't make it in person, in his fight to free the fetus.

Here's an interesting article which was written June 11, 2008,
entitled Notre Dame, Abortion, and Obama: Our Lady's Civil War?
that includes Mike Huckabee helping to save the day on pro-life issues.

Interesting post and thread. Thanks Mike Huckabee but I doubt that pro-life /sarcasm Ben can be swayed.

A lonely boy becomes good friends with Ben, a rat. This rat is also the leader of a pack of vicious killer rats, killing lots of people.

...and to make matters worse Michael Jackson sang for him.

Call an exterminator (no not the terminator) Mike.

What is so horrible about Mike Huckabee in regard to his views on pro-life? The only think "slinking around" is the devil. Whose side are you on?
