When I read that, long before the furor erupted, I thought Webb put it in to make the diaper heads even less sympathetic than they already were.
It has been known at least since the days of Sir Richard Francis Burton that sexual predation on boys is endemic throughout the mooselimb countries. I thought Webb was just trying to remind the reader of that...or inform the reader, if he’s not well read.
