Democrats voted early this morning in the Senate on the initial series of cloture votes with the goal of passing the Senate's health care bill by Christmas. Following the 1:30 am vote, Sen. Ben Nelson (D - NE) emerged from the floor and spoke to reporters about the bill as well as the controversy surrounding the deal Senator Nelson acquired of Nebraska for full federal funding of Medicaid in perpetuity. The Washington Times asked the Senator if he thought the other states should get the same Medicaid deal that Nebraska received. "Of course. As a matter of fact, I said it needs to be fixed. They chose to fix it this way," he said.

When push comes to shove there is no such thing as a “moderate” or “conservative” Democrat. Nelson is as slimey as all the rest including Landreau and Lincoln. They are devoid of principles and totally without honor.
One more time: Congress creates NOTHING! Whether it’s local, state or federal dollars - THOSE DOLLARS ARE MINE! It’s up to ME how they should be spent, not you, Senator Nelson - or any of ya!

Great. 74% of my county’s property tax levy goes just to meet our Medicaid obligations.
Ben knows his senate seat will be gone after this.

Congress does not create wealth, they squander it but, the wealth of this nation comes from all of our sweat and effort!
They will be shocked and amazed when the people of this country kick back at them.
We need to repeal the 17th Amendment..along with several others. Audit the Fed.
I would not be hanging my hopes on 2010 and 2012. Even if Republicans get in there, based on past actions all they will do is cave and share power.
