Report: (Terrorist) Hasan asked about killing troops in ’08

A radical Muslim cleric claims Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hasan asked him about killing American soldiers nearly a year before Hasan allegedly shot to death 13 fellow soldiers at Fort Hood.

In an interview Wednesday with the Arabic-language news network Al-Jazeera, Anwar al-Awlaki, considered a key recruiter for al-Qaida, said Hasan asked him in a December 2008 e-mail "whether killing American soldiers and officers is lawful or not" under Islamic law.

In the interview, Al-Awlaki then appears to taunt U.S. intelligence and security, saying, "I wonder where were the American security forces that one day claimed they can read the numbers of any license plate, anywhere in the world, from space."

Did Hasan email Obama asking him, too?
Is that why all documents are being withheld by the WH?

Absolutely correct. Hasan's radicalism appears to have been well known long before the massacre of November 5th. But nobody wanted to speak up about it and then get accused of being "anti-Muslim". I was subjected to a lot of this propaganda white washing Islam even under President Bush when I was deployed to Iraq. And I'm sure that other Iraq or Afghanistan War veterans on this esteemed forum saw the same thing. I shudder to think of how bad it is now under the Obamanation.

And I am becoming more convinced Maj. Hasan perhaps intended to assassinate the Israeli Ambassador to the United States in the summer of 2009, and also a maybe few extra good shots for good at other VIPs right there at the event including Ambassador Paul Bremer, and some distinguished Jewish think tank leaders. (at George Washington University).

If they did not have metal detectors and pat downs at the venue, Hasan was probably able to carry heat in there.

I have posted the video of his encounter close to the Ambassadors which was aired on C-Span...not very settling.

Political correctness and diversity will be the death of us all.

They probably did. Those folks, unlike the rank and file of the US military, have extensive security. The members of the military aren't even allowed to be able to protect themselves.

And that is even more true now than it was when Hasan went on his rampage. As if he would have declared his pistols to the gate guard, or registered them with the post authorities, as all are now required to do.

Damn him for taunting the USA - and damn him again for being right.

When will we stop being a curse to ourselves with the ridiculous fear wrought by political correctness?
We need bravery in the military - leaders who have the courage to stand against the audacity of idiocy and take out the enemy.

They set up their/our own soldiers for this attack. Today the leadership continues to brainwash them into believing that Hasan was just a madman who snapped.

The speech was on an American university campus, not at a federal government facility. In that case, and I have seen cases, of VIPs giving talks on universities and there are no checkpoints, wandings or metal detectors.

I still do wonder what the case was for physical security last summer at George Washington University in D.C. when Major Hasan showed up (by then on FBI watch list) and got a front row center seat right across from the Ambassador (from the country he HATES).
