White House officials began their Saturday at 4 a.m. in Hawaii — 9 a.m. on the clock in Washington — to prepare with counterparts across the government a briefing for Obama. National Security Council chief of staff Denis McDonough in Hawaii, homeland security and counterterrorism adviser John Brennan and others in Washington spoke with Obama at 6:20 a.m. by secure telephone conference call at the first family's rented vacation home.
Thecall lasted less than 15 minutes. Obama left immediately afterward for a trip to the gym.
Other traveling administration aides also were kept in a secure hotel room to receive briefings from investigators, to monitor developments, to feed updates to the president and to coordinate across agencies. Regular updates were sent to the president, who — despite being on holiday — made decisions to continue increased security precautions he put in place after Friday's incident.
Officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss delicate situation and to describe the president's private schedule.

You can look it up, however, I am not really sure why you want to compare your hero to President Bush. I thought all you Obamabots thought President Bush was the worst ever, and would never want to compare to the worst.
Besides, I actually see nothing wrong with how President Bush conducted himself on 9/11. What was he supposed to, stand up and start yelling and screaming, or do what John Kerry claimed he did and sit alone in his office for an hour speachless? Seems that your answer is that when the country is under attack they should be out on the golf course seemingly unconcerned. Happy New Year.

It is comforting to know that if you were on that plane, you would have been happy to hear that your president went to the golf course right after hearing the news. Yes! obama continued with his vacation just as President Bush continued reading calmly to the students. I'm sure the parents appreciated that he didn't scare the living daylights out of those students.

As we all know – thanks to being told so by successive administrations — Islam is the religion of peace*. Thanks to the actions of this one brave passenger — who fully understood that he had nothing to lose — this incident remained a small one.
Thanks to PC and the chronic disease known as “Cranial Anal Inversion Syndrome” among most alleged American “leaders” all the way up to the White Mosque — er — House, this “small” incident — and all like it in the future — will disappear down the Orwellian memory hole.
By their INACTION and persistence in their denial that we are at war with a determined and dedicated enemy, these alleged “leaders” have 100% guaranteed the the next one will NOT be “small.”

1. The absence of conflict or war.
