NWA Bomb Plot: NBC Plays D For O
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Pres. Obama should find time in his busy vacation schedule to drop a palm-trees-and-sandy-beaches thank you postcard to NBC. On this morning's Today, successive network staffers defended the administration's [mis]handling of the Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab matter.

First, terrorism expert Roger Cressey [who usually plays it straight], claimed there wasn't enough information to "connect the dots" and move young Umar from the "watch list" to the "no-fly" list. Really? The guy's father, a respected international banker, was so concerned about his son's extremist Islamist views that he took the unusual measure of personally contacting the US embassy with a warning. Dots? How about a huge exclamation point!?

Next, John Harwood backhands GOP criticism of the Obama admin's national security policy as "partisan."

AP: FBI officials in Washington announced that Barack Obama has been officially linked to the recent attempted aircraft bombing in Detroit, Michigan. The FBI has evidenced that Obama paid for the bomber's terrorist training, provided the explosive weapon he used, and used his power to allow the bomber to board a Delta flight without baggage or passport.

CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WP have all released statements condemning the FBI demanding that the bureau be shutdown immediately.

Representative Pete Hoekstra and Senator Joe Lieberman were on Fox news Sunday this morning, and Hoekstra said that the Administration’s top priority over at TSA is unionizing it.

Go figure.

Lieberman also said that 12 terrorist attacks against the Homeland US have been thwarted this year, but we have in fact had three successful terrorist attacks, including the near-successful attack on Christmas Eve. Had that explosive device worked, there is a very good chance he would have brought that plane down over a residential neighborhood in Detroit.

How many wake-up calls do we need?

What really disturbs me the most is how quickly we have such a wealth of information on the perp so quickly after the incident. It turns out we know quite a bit about these bastards but the Government still insists on treating these guys like common criminals. The attempted bomber from Christmas Eve has already lawyered up and been read his Miranda Rights.

This is insanity. At what point do we decide we have had enough of this?? At what point do we begin to realize we have been invaded by an enemy that hates us all and would see every last one of us dead??

The incompetence of Barack Hussein Obama and his Black Muslim Presidency:

1. Obama’s FBI did not alert the ARMY that Maj Nidal Hassan was a Muslim Extremist.

2. Obama’s State Dept did nothing to revoke Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab’s VISA after Abdul’s father told the US Embassy that his son was a MUSLIM Extremist.

Now this same incompetent Black Muslim Presidency want to manage our HEALTHCARE!!!!!!!!!!!

Was the individual who subdued Mr. Abdulmutallab authorized to do what he did? I mean was he an Air Marshall, a certified card carrying union member? Did he injure Mr. Abdulmutallab in any way? Did he use excessive force? The death of 300 passengers would be terrible, but the damage to our philosophy of diversity would be even worse. Had Mr. Abdulmutallab been white would Jasper have been so eager to attack him. Jasper Schuringa should not only be the subject of a law suit but should be compelled to take sensitivity training. It should be unnecessary to point out that I am being sarcastic. However, the disease that is liberalism is so widespread that some may believe that I am being sincere. Let’s have another round of Koolaid.

No fly list? We don’t need no steenking no fly list. We don’t even need a passport.

> This is mental illness on parade.

Nope. Those of us with mental illness are able to seek treatment and obtain relief. And most of us are loyal citizens: some are Patriots.

What you see here is not mental illness on parade.

It is criminal negligence.
It is reckless disregard for public safety.
It is treason.

The liberals are saying if TSA were unionized they would do a better job because they would get paid more and not be worrying how they would pay their bills while screening passengers.

We are doomed!

As we all know – thanks to being told so by successive administrations — Islam is the religion of peace*. Thanks to the actions of one brave passenger — who fully understood that he had nothing to lose — this incident remained a small one.

Thanks to PC and the chronic disease known as “Cranial Anal Inversion Syndrome” among most alleged American “leaders” all the way up to the White Mosque — er — House, this “small” incident — and all like it in the future — will disappear down the Orwellian memory hole.

\I suspect the primary cause of the failure to put this guy – and only God knows how many more — on a no-fly list is that the folks down the food chain and on the ground who are SUPPOSED to keep these MUSLIM idiots off commercial flights are severely conflicted. On one hand, they are tasked to keep flying safe. On the other, they’ve all had multiple memos and “sensitivity sessions” stressing that they MUST be especially alert to the feelings of Muslims. Any actions they take against them MUST be fully justified and documented. The vernacular expression dealing with that is “CYA.” And so they do — while the rest of us die or, thanks to the actions of a passenger, have a very close call on approach to Detroit.

Compounding the problem is that this particular miscreant was not only a Muslim but a black guy from Nigeria. And the American president is _________ (fill in the correct color) and, having been born to a Muslim father and raised in a Muslim country, sympathetic to the religion of _________. (fill in the appropriate term).

The response to this near-tragedy? Fatherland Security now keeps passengers in their seats for the last hour of the trip!! Great! I suspect sales of Depends will soon spike. Now these folks will die at 35,000 feet and the wreckage will be strewn over hundreds of square miles making it virtually impossible to determine if it WAS an act of mass murder by (select one) an angry Norwegian, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, a Muslim nutcase. A few more of these and the air travel industry will be COMPLETELY dead.

By their INACTION and persistence in their denial that we are at war with a determined and dedicated enemy, these alleged “leaders” have 100% guaranteed that the next one will NOT be “small.”
* BTW, “peace” has two definitions:
1. The absence of conflict or war.
2. The ABSENCE or SUPPRESSION OF RESISTANCE TO SOME FORCE, POLICY, IDEOLOGY or POLITICAL SYSTEM, etc. WITH WHICH ONE HAS AN ABIDING DISAGREEMENT WHICH ONE WOULD OTHERWISE ATTEMPT TO DEFEAT TO THE POINT OF TAKING UP ARMS.

Harwood’s mother was an active campaigner for the presidential campaign of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968 and Harwood, at age 11, appeared in a TV ad for Robert F. Kennedy’s 1968 campaign.

John, what about this controversy over opposition to Obama’s speech to school children?

Harwood: I’ve got to tell you Monica, I’ve been watching politics for a long time and this is, this one is really over the top. What it shows you is there are a lot of cynical people who try to fan controversy and let’s face it, in a country of three hundred million people there are a lot of stupid people too, because if you believe that’s it’s somehow unhealthy for kids for the President to say work hard and stay in school, you’re stupid.

Novotny: Ouch.

Harwood: In fact, I’m worried for some of those kids, I’m worried for some of those kids of those parents who are upset. I’m not sure they’re smart enough to raise those kids

Yes. Because of this administration, this terrorist has RIGHTS!

Because of this administration, this terrorist is NOT being interrogated.

Who else may die as a result of this shirking of responsibility?

In 1968, Washington Post reporter Richard Harwood took himself off Robert Kennedy’s campaign bus because he had become too enamored with the candidate.

Four decades later, his son, CNBC chief Washington correspondent John Harwood, says such a thing would not happen today — despite the gravitational pull of Barack Obama.

“There’s been a cultural shift in this business,” says Harwood, who will co-anchor CNBC’s inauguration coverage.

“When you’ve been doing this long enough, you feel a certain detachment from it.” (Chris Matthews and his leg tingles notwithstanding.)

Harwood, 52, has been around Presidential campaigns since he was 11. No joke.

Before his dad was re-assigned to George McGovern in ‘68, young John appeared in a TV spot for RFK. Volunteered by his mother, he and several other youngsters chatted with the candidate about education. It was filmed at tony St. Albans School.

“I remember being cooped up under these hot lights thinking it was a special thing,” recalls Harwood, a public school kid. “In the ethical culture of today’s journalism, the idea that one of my kids would be in an ad for a candidate is preposterous.”

Harwood does a weekly column for the New York Times and reported for the Wall Street Journal full-time from 1991 until joining CNBC in ‘06.

“It’s important to me, in terms of my identity, to continue to work for a newspaper,” he says. “I get a lot of psychic income from that. Sometimes TV can be shallow, superficial. Being able to have my hand in a deeper part of the business is rewarding.”

We’ve had two terrorist attacks on American soil in the last month. One was successful because the victims had been disarmed by the government. The second was unsuccessful because a bystander broke the rules and left his seat and had to risk his own life because our government was too incompetent to protect him from a known terrorist sympathizer who was not screened because of political correctness.

Wrong on the second. The bomb attempt failed due to the fact the bomb didn't detonate as planned. The passenger didn't stop the bomb attack he merely subdued the perp after the failed attempt. Had the bomb exploded as planned there would be about 300 dead passengers scattered over the Detroit landscape.

Cressey has been a foreign policy advisor to Barack Obama

Cressey worked at the Department of Defense, including as Deputy Director for War Plans. From 1991-1995, he served in the Department of State working on Middle East Security issues.

Richard Clarke, (Clarke’s deputy) friend and colleague

Cressey was directly tasked at that time, leading up to 9/11, with the prevention of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.

“He was Chief of Staff to the President’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Board at the White House from November 2001 to September 2002.”

So aside from picking up big paychecks from NBC, owned by General Electric (a huge military contractor) and the Rockefeller family (Exxon/Mobile), what does Roger Cressey do now? Well, he started his own corporate security company Good Harbor Consulting. They have offices in the U.S. as well as in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
