Obama scores well for first year on ethics, say watchdog groups

President Barack Obama scores well among ethics watchdog groups in his first year in office, though they’d still like to see more from the president.

Obama has wielded the power of the White House to craft an executive order that limited lobbyist hires in his administration, push federal agencies to share more of their data with the public and begin releasing visitor records for the executive complex on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

“After the last eight years, it is refreshing to see a president, through his rhetoric and action, who understands the way that the system works is a problem. That just a great place to start with,” said Meredith McGehee, policy director for the Campaign Legal Center.

******

Meredith McGehee just lost any credibility she had!

Formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Lobbyist for Common Cause. McGehee has been recognized as one of the top nonprofit/grassroots lobbyists in Washington.

Prior to joining Common Cause, McGehee was Legislative Director for U.S. Representative Lane Evans of Illinois and a legislative aide to U.S. Representative Dante Fascell of Florida (both Democrats). She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, West Africa

She also serves as Program Director for Americans for Redistricting Reform, a coalition launched by the Legal Center. In addition, she is the principal of McGehee Strategies, which specializes in public interest advocacy campaigns. McGehee is the former President of the Alliance for Better Campaigns, a public interest group that sought to put meaning back into broadcasters’ statutory obligation to serve the public interest.

MCGEHEE STRATEGIES is led by Meredith McGehee, an experienced public policy strategist who has been recognized as one of the top public interest lobbyists in Washington, DC and has planned and managed a range of programs recognized for their effectiveness — often culminating in victories against great odds.

Can we please cut the crap with these so-called ‘non-partisan’ tax exempt groups when all they are doing is avoiding paying taxes!

This is also the first guy that communicates privately with Gawd knows who, without a trace since...Coolidge? Probably forever, since Presidential papers, and letters have been filed. His usage of a Blackberry should not even be allowed in a free society. What he says, and hears about policy....about nearly everything, should be available for future generations, and the perusal of his peers .

Stalinist ethics, no argument.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Wow, McGehee should be moved up to the front of the line when the Traitors are led to the Gallows.

They can put her between Obozo and Rahm.

What a tool...

I declare myself a "watchdog group" and I say that in one year, he has become the most corrupt administration in our history. Chicago style politics brought to the nation. Most of those who voted for the scoundrel didn't expect the pick pocketing of all Change from their purses. Fraud has a new name and it is Barry Soetoro, or Barack Husseing Obama, or whatever his real name is.

BTW, we still don't know which of over a hundred social security card numbers he has used in his life, is his real one. This dog just can't get it's teeth on the real number.
