If it identifies the people who want to take their country back, well, then we wear the label with a glowing pride. Whatever it may mean to those who place the label on us, the term is much like “Yankee”, a name bestowed upon the original American patriots by their English oppressors.
And from that, we got “Yankee Doodle Dandy”. An appellation that still feeds the American populist spirit.
Before the Tea Party Movement, tea-bagging denoted the activity of lowering one’s testicles into another’s mouth.
