“They have the death penalty in Asia for the use or sale of narcotics.”
I restate, we need the same here!!!
You mean you don't think that they deserve the microscopic robotic doberman pinschers with lobster claws that ended in running chainsaws that are poured down his throat, in a solution of lava, lye, and rat poison; and then using 200,000, 290 amp volt probes up his butt and in his ears, to order the robotic doberman pinschers to burrow to his skin where they began stripping his skin off and pouring salt onto the freshly exposed nerves, which they rubbed in with tiny little belt sanders that when the sanders were done, fired little tiny bullets into his eyes which popped like grapes, and then the little tiny bullets turn into little killer bees with sharks teeth that have razor blades all over them, which when they sting send out little puffs of pepper spray, then the little robotic doberman pinschers use microwaves on him until he became a EASTERN BLOC COWBOY ZOMBIE?
Cuz I think they do.
Funny how Asia doesn’t have our massive drug problem ;-)
“He was such a good boy.”
Don’t forget “trying to feed his family”.
Ah yes the old... “ Hard working and well intentioned” bit.
I think that’s the post of the year, Laz!
“he was also forced to listen to Phil Collins’ No Jacket Required. “
I don’t mind the death penalty, but I draw the line on torture.
That must have been what I meant to say.
That's inhuman!
Rom 13:2-4 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.
I feel sorry for the people of China who are persecuted for doing good things, but not the people executed for doing evil. I should rephrase that. I feel sorry for him but I don’t blame China for offing him.
Certainly not China.
About as British as I am Italian.
Uh, wow. lol
He knew what would happen to him if he was caught, beforehand. He must either have not believed them or thought he would not get caught.
Either way he learned a lesson.
Well, that’s almost the way to fight a “war on drugs.” Granted, though, it’s not a “war on drugs,” unless the smuggler is shot on sight.
Interestingly I wonder how DU handled this story. If at all.
‘Bush’s fault’ probably
It’s pretty harsh. While I don’t have a lot of sympathy for Mr. Shaikh - he had to know the risks involved in smuggling heroin into China and is laying in the bed he made for himself - I’m not exactly cheering his execution, either. While China has actually reformed its criminal law to a significant extent in the last 20 years, what passes for due process there is still a far cry from what we expect from a civilized country.
