GOP U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown has been all but abandoned by the same national Republican committees that pumped hundreds of thousands in campaign cash to former governors Mitt Romney and William Weld

LOL.... yep that really worked for Ron Paul.

More importantly, does anyone here really think there is a real conservative running for office in Massa2$hits?

Well, I don’t know about total hatred. Bill Weld (Republican) was Governor. Mitt Romney (Republican) was Governor. Both in the last 20 years. Yes, MA is a Democrat state. But it voted for Reagan in 1984.

1) Low turnout because it’s a special election.

2) People not liking Obama hurts Coakley.

Brown has a much better shot than a R would typically have in MA.

Some will. Think “old people”. Old people vote. Old people really like the Kennedys.

Apparently Kennedy is getting in the debates and is apparently taking the same positions as Brown. Bad for Brown.

Hey, Kennedy, Mass is Liberal. Legalize Drugs. End all wars. Etc etc. (In other words, don’t be a d*ck. Run to the Left of Coakley). How much can taxes be cut by legalizing and taxing Marijuana?

It did work well for Ron Paul.

I didn’t see Hunter or Tancredo (the other US Reps running) making over $5 mil in a single day. The smart, creative, aggressive fundraising did help Ron Paul.

I don’t want to get into a long discussion about Ron Paul.

But, is Scott Brown set for $?

I’d recommend that he run a standard campaign, with standard bags of $ from the usual suspects in the typical manner. He doesn’t strike me as a particularly interesting politician at all. A typical mainstream Republican politician by MA standards.

If I were to guess right now I’d say that he is going to need more $. And it’s possible that a Ron Paul style fundraising campaign would help.

The likely outcome is Brown won’t get the $ and he’ll lose.

But if people talk about Scott Brown, how electing Scott Brown could stop Obama, if Rush and the rest talk about that, he could possibly get enough money.

My old 81 year old mother is sooo proud she is an independent...she loved Sarah Palin and of course voted for John McCain...but she was a FDR democrat..had polio and looked upon him as a hero...what can I say, maybe there is hope. I don't think a lot of seniors are going to go out and vote on Jan 19th, hopefully they will just stay in and just ASSUME Martha has it in the bag.

Now the young liberals that I know at work have no freaking knowledge there is a Special Election taking place on Jan 19th and I am sure and heck am not gonna clue them on. I'm not at all interested in trying to get them to vote for Scott when surely, they voted for the most popular Amercian Idol, Barak Hussein Obama..mmm mmm mmm!

I heard Scott on the radio this evening announcing some t.v. ads that would hit next week. BUT, I still think that the Dems in MA are idiots and I pray, I pray they just don't have it in them to vote on Jan. 19th.

We need a nice Massachusetts Miracle! It can happen. The Red Sox one again...BELIEVE!!!!

Freegards and thank you for you pings...you are a true patriot.

I find it a very interesting race.

You’re in MA, how’s it actually going there?

I’ve been reading about the debate, a few articles, and it appears that Kennedy is being an ahole. Apparently there was an independent ahole in the Deval Patrick race as well.

Kennedy spent most of the debate attacking Brown, not Coakley. Called Brown a RINO.

I guess that’s how it works in MA these days. A unknown I runs, takes positions slightly to the right of the R, attacks the R. The D insists on having the I in the debates, else the D won’t debate. So it’s the R against the D, and the D and the I against the R.

Brown wants head to head debates against Coakley and Coakley is having none of it.

I’m happy I’ve done a little bit of research here. I wasn’t sure what to make of Kennedy. Now I know. Thumbs down.

I really don’t know what to think of Brown, but I do prefer him to Kennedy. Kennedy is helping Coakley. Boo.

RINOs. Period. And governors can't do major damage to the nation. Senators can (and in the case of Massachusetts) will.

Like saying people not liking Carter hurt Kennedy or Tsongas.

trust me fellow FReeper, anything anything to break the Kennedy clan! Thank the Lord, Patrick is in RI. Imagine if you will, growing up a little girl in MA and finding Ronald Reagan as your 1st and only hero in the political world...the redux stories of the sordid Kennedy lives displayed upon you and thinking, what's up with that?! Well, that's been the struggle of many a good conservative person who believed in the Mayflower pioneers and the Adams’s legacy...to be mired in mud with the Kennedy slime all my years as a resident voting conservative, Republican citizen...the horror we have endured...

Most liberal female friends I know at work are pathetic...they must have a lousy man just to have a man...they claim they are heart addicted to their boyfriends, they are incomplete without a sexual partner.. this is 50% of the voting population in MA.

That's fine and good for many a woman...but I personally believe in QUALITY NOT QUANTITY!.. which is your typical idiotic MA female voter. If MA guys want to way in...here we go...

Yeah. I’m not really taking a position here. I like having reliable votes. When you have 60 Republicans, you have 60 Republicans. On the other hand, this is Massachusetts we’re talking about. On the other hand, in some other state, a RINO could say “but why does the Senator from MA get to vote like a RINO sometimes”. So it’s important to have reliable conservatives. But it’s also important to Stop Obama Now.

I think I was responding to the assertion that the Republican brand name was utterly poison in MA, and I was saying that Republicans can and do win in MA. I wasn’t saying that we need more RINOs.

I don’t know if Scott Brown is a RINO. I’d expect that the National Republicans are holding back because they don’t want to catch it from teapartiers / conservatives if they do back Brown and he is deemed a RINO.

Hyannisport..the Camp David of the Kennedys! All I know as I hit the hay tonight...my 48 years of life living in Massachusetts has been HARD! iT’s expensive and quite frankly, not worth it. BUT, I do have soon-to-be 11 year old son who loves his father... I would love nothing better than to pack it all up as MANY MASSACHUSETTS FAMILIES have done and head elsewhere...but what am I to do?! disrupt my son’s life...It’s not easy! Another 7 years...TEXAS here I come!!!!
