Incoming Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr. has chosen as his chief gatekeeper disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer's chief of staff, The Post has learned.
The new DA intends to tap Marlene Turner, a longtime top Spitzer aide, to replace Ida van Lindt, who served as personal secretary to outgoing DA Robert Morgenthau and his predecessors.
Vance's move to hire Turner wasn't mentioned in the lengthy staff rollout that Morgenthau's successor announced yesterday — but the move raised eyebrows among several long-time government hands as sending an odd message.
"She is tied to everything Eliot," said one longtime government hand familiar with Spitzer's relationship with Turner.
The appointment raises questions about the extent to which Spitzer himself is involved informally with the new DA's administration.

Cyrus Vance was the “genius” in the Carter administration who was a gutless anti-American Secretary of State. He gave the canal back to Panama long before it should’ve been. His general lack of balls probably directly led to the Iran hostage crisis. (and he resigned when they tried to send in troops to do the rescue because he opposed the use of force).
He also authored the Global 2000 paper (it’s hard to find a site that isn’t a major conspiracy site where you can learn about this paper, but if you carefully watch your google results, you’ll find them)...which talked about reducing global populations...
