Former Vice President Says Obama's Approach to Terrorists Makes U.S. 'Less Safe'

WASHINGTON, Dec. 30, 2009 One day after President Obama called the "human and systemic failures" leading to the attempted Christmas Day bombing of Northwest flight 253 "totally unacceptable," former Vice President Dick Cheney is accusing the president of being part of the problem.
Gibbs fires back: The "VP was for seven years not focused on Afghanistan.""We are at war, and when President Obama pretends we aren't, it makes us less safe," Cheney said in a statement to Politico.
Cheney said Obama's "low key response" to the failed attack, refusal to use the phrase "war on terror" and the pending closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention center all reflect an attitude that terrorism is a law enforcement problem not a military one.
"Why doesn't he want to admit we're at war? It doesn't fit with the view of the world he brought with him to the Oval Office. It doesn't fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency – social transformation – the restructuring of American society," Cheney said.

Okay. I usually rant when Freepers suggest Palin for the second slot. Been there. Done that. No interest in her playing second to anyone else.
Cheney would be the exception to the rule. His personality is strong enough not to be dominated by her own, I agree with him more then not on issues with a few notable exceptions, and his experience and talents outweigh almost everyone else’s.
Cheney is the only one I’d accept before Palin’s name.
With respect Mr. VP, any RINO who pretends we have an immigration policy makes us less safe.

Because it allows Obozo and all other leftists to imagine that the terrorists only hate what leftists themselves hate about America and thus can be assuaged with “giving” and “understanding”rather than that they just hate anyone who isn’t them and are implacable.

Cheney has it nailed: Liberals do not think we are at war. It is now officially 9/10/01 again.

I love Dick Cheney. He’s not afraid to tell it like it is. When he talks, people listen, even if they don’t want to hear what he has to say. Too bad for us that this president is a coward and he’s not worth listening to.

I think Mr. Cheney misses the point. Obama is at war, he just doesn't want to up front with who considers to be the enemy.
