I hardly qualify as an expert and I’m sure there are numerous hideous and scary high tech methods to disable this country and cause unimaginable death and distruction but for me the question is, is this bunch of incompetent loons capable of any of it?
What you describe sounds like something that a hostile foreign government - Iran, for instance - might attempt. The US government should be aware of such technologies and prepare for their use but I can’t see a gang of 7th century barbarians being the ones to employ them.
The US government pretty much lost interest in this during Clinton's "Peace Dividend".
