All this because she wouldn’t join the party.
She had a job at the start of the Nazi regime. The father of the family she worked for became a captain and told her she needed to join the party to keep working for the family.
She could have just joined the ‘party’, attended a couple of meetings, merely going through the motions and kept her position. But she didn’t. She never knew what the Nazis were doing until after the war. Oh, yeah, rumors but hey, Goebbels was in charge. No one knew what to believe.
Was she brave or just stubborn?
