"...nowhere in this document was there any mention of Yemen, whose Al-Qaeda affiliate is now believed to have been behind the unsuccessful Christmas Day attempt..." Note that nowhere in the report is there a denial that there was intelligence about a Nigerian.

Apparently his thousandth vacation where he can parade himself as Dear Leader was much more important than protecting the country and its people.

Present were representatives of agencies involved in counter-terrorism policy and operations, including Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and FBI Director Robert Mueller. The CIA and National Intelligence Directors Office were represented by deputy agency heads: CIA deputy director Steven Kappes, and David Gompert, the principal deputy to National Intelligence Czar Dennis Blair. Also present was Michael Leiter, director of the National Counter-terrorism Center, a unit of the Intelligence Czar's office which was created after 9/11 to ensure that intelligence reporting about possible terrorist plots was shared quickly among all US agencies who might have some capability to do something about it.Systemic failure...

Are you kidding me!?? Despite the title, this article does everything possible to try and absolve Obama of any responsibility! Clearly, the article is posted by a very friendly reporter who lays out Rahm Emmanuel’s talking points, basically that it’s the intelligence community’s fault for not being more specific, and that Obama is even increasing our intellegence capacity in Yemen.
Pfffft.... this is a plant story put out by Emanuel and conveyed by a willing aide, Newsweak.

“Bammy’s administration has two major threats to deal with...al-Qaeda....AND. the destruction of 65,000 jobs/day...going on 18 months now.
Instead the Dems and his administration are pre-occupied with
“healthcare”...and Global Warming/Cap & Trade.
Like “The Stimulus” bill has done ANYTHING.
BTW...anybody see Michael Steel or any Pubbies out there concerned at all about jobs?!!!

This is coming out of Newsweak of all places. Should get some play. The top of the FR Breaking News Bar is a good start. Let’s keep it out there.

One of my Theatrical agents was in a movie with Bing Crosby when he was a kid.
This would not be relevant to this thread except that the title of the movie was:
HAWAII CALLS
The Lyin' King must have been watching old movies instead of listening to his intelligence reports.

...The official denies that the White House received any report, representing the consensus of U.S. intelligence agencies, warning that a holiday-period plot originating in Yemen and targeting the U.S. homeland could be in the works.....
This is the reason for the Newsweak leak. It is denial of responsibility for acting. there was no need

I'm wondering if the President was there, or if only "The Office of the Pesident" was there, as represented by Rahm and Axelrod.
Did Obama skip out, and take the written report...never to read it? Why such emphasis on no mention of Yemen?
Were all immediate references to "Nigeria" or "Nigerian"? Was there any mention of emergent plots involving PETN and airplanes?

Hey...NObama was very busy buying votes for his health takeover. He can’t worry about terrorism during an important vote like this.
To: Saije
And he did nothing about it but go on vacation?

Let me tell you about my New Year's Day flight from Atlanta to Seattle. We're waiting at the gate area and here comes this (what looked like to me) tall American Black women all bedecked out in the usual female Muslim gear, you know, the silk headscarf and covered from neck to ankle with nice looking clothing (I don't know what they call it). Anyway, she waltzes up to the counter, gets a seat assignment, walks around the whole seating area looking for a seat. She had a tad of an attitude but maybe it was just me. The whole crowd looks like, "Oh Jesus, now what do we do?" Then a bearded Sikh guy (fwiw he "felt" okay, but who knows) waltzes up to the counter with his family - anyway he had that Sikh turban thingy on - and gets a seat assignment.
We just so happen were in the last row of the plane, 44, and the Muslim gal was 3 seats ahead of us, the Sikh guy was 2 seats ahead of us on the other side. I'm wondering, did they both get a crotch search? A total cavity search? I knew they hadn't, so it was tension city all the way to Seattle. Did anyone talk with them, interview them, like the Israelis do? I'm sweating bullets when she went to the bathroom. I honest to God almost didn't get on the plane. . .
Anyway, we made it, but unless things change, it's just a matter of time until 300 men, women and children get killed. There were a lot of kids on the plane. . .
