Saw Sherlock Holmes last night. Pretty good pic, as I’m quite the Baker Street fan.

I had mixed feelings about Sherlock Holmes. The Holmes I know is a man of the intellect. Yet this film was non-stop violence. Also, I can’t imagine Sherlock Holmes going about looking like a scruffy Hollywood star on the cover of People magazine. In the Victorian age, no gentleman went out unless he was properly dressed.

On the other hand, I loved Fantastic Mr. Fox, which I saw at Thanksgiving with my family.

Still, the character is nothing like the Holmes of the books. I don’t think I could go see the movie. It just wouldn’t be the same.

Yes, I am an old stick-in-the-mud and proud of it! ;-)
