Although, I don’t think either of them have international airports....right?

No, although Newark, OH had an Air Force installation years ago.

Just for kicks, the local Ohio pronunciation is Nerk.

That about says it all.

Any takeoffs yet from Terminal C? This has been going on for a few hours now.

Yeah. Flying used to be fun...and drinks were cheap!

I just flew back from Columbia SC after visiting my son at Ft. Jackson and they wanted 6 bucks for a beer!

I haven’t heard back from him. His 7:15 flight to Frankfurt is now scheduled for 10:30.

And yet, it is SO MUCH BETTER, than the old North Terminal, that I spent several cold nights in, watching the snow piling up in the hall, as it came under the doors.
PeopleXpress days ...

Flew PeopleXpress to London, Denver and a few other destinations out of the old North Terminal. Not all that bad and the aircraft were fine ... as I recall our fare to London per person r/t was $150.00 ... you get what you pay for ... and I spent little time in the terminal. That, of course, was well before 9/11.

Newark, DE

Except they pronounce it New Ark.

Here in Jersey we pronounce it Noork!

That is one airport where I’d doubt the bad guys would need to really put themselves at risk to do something.

Such a disorganized mess at Newark and always has been that I figured Al Queda could pretty much do what they wanted to do with the “help” of some Muslim friendly airport workers, whether in TSA, baggage or hanger locations.

Cheaper than at a sporting event.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED Peoplxpress, but the North Terminal was a real dump, even by the standards of the mid-80’s.

But so much easier to get into the city from compared to La Guardia or JFK and (knock on wood) I never had flights out of Newark delayed for hours or overnight as I did in the other two... I was even re-routed into Newark on a flight bound for JFK one time and I think I was one of the few on the flight that was happy about that turn of events..

Yep...I did know that, but all he was looking for was another Newark! I would guess that they started out as New Ark...

OMG $6.00 for a beer! WOW! I quit drinking a long time ago, but don’t harbor any ill will for anyone to have a beer when they want one, but $6.00 is like the Left taxing you out of smoking, cause THEY don’t like it.

SHEESH! That’s ridiculous.

No question about that. I remember back in the '90s getting out of the gate area and seeing the WTC through the huge five story window as you exited Terminal C. Felt like you could reach out and touch the city.

I’ve flown much more recent that that date, but no more, if I can help it.... I still remember vividly flying out of Reagan late in August of 2001 right over the pentagon and thinking, as I was looking at it from my window view, what a unique place it is.... only to have terrorists try to destroy it a few weeks later... the next time I flew into DC they went straight up and down the Potomac, made everyone stay seated (like now evidently)..... no more taking off over landmarks as they headed West.
