we will propose
we think it will be golden

Do you have a mouse in your pocket or are you just wee-weed up?

So—what you are saying is that 3rd parties have no function. Perhaps you would like to Ban all 3rd Parties. Maybe we should pass a law saying that there shall only be Two Parties—Republican and Democrat. All other parties would just force a will for one of the two. Maybe the listed of 3rd Parties did serve as an outlet for new ideas and change. Maybe, times are different now—the Tea Parties are not the single issue creatures like the Prohibitionist Party of the Peace-Freedom parties. I would support a 3rd Party only if the Republicans do not change. But, I guess if we stick to the mantra of No 3rd Party—we will be forced to stick with corruption, RINOs and Democrat rule (in one form or another). I fear that if things do not change—it could lead to Civil War and Millions of deaths.

I didn’t say that we shouldn’t have third Parties, what I said was they don’t win.

Here are the facts, as listed at the end of my earlier post, what makes you think a new third party would perform any different?:

In the history of the United States, not a single third party has come close to winning the presidency,
only 7 third parties have even won a single state’s electoral votes and
only 5 third parties have won even 10% of the vote.

There has been NO ACTUAL success of third parties. Those who argue that the Republican party itself was a successful third party movement, had best read the history of US political parties.
The Whigs and Free-Soilers joined to form the Republican Party, which strongly supported the abolition of slavery.
The Whig party, emerged out of the National Republican Party, and elected two presidents, William Henry Harrison (1840) and Zachary Taylor in (1848). Out of this base, the Free Soilers and the Know-Nothings, the new Republican Party was formed in 1854, and elected Lincoln in 1860.

I think you are limiting your historical perspectives. You are right that the 3rd Parties never win the White House but a number of Governors and congress critters have been elected from 3rd Parties. Their ideas have influenced American Political thinking. I see the 3rd Party as a way to seek reform, well needed reform, to end corruption. 3rd Parties are a means to protest and bring ideas to the table.

The only thing I would advise against is the formation of a national third party. It would split the conservative/libertarian vote, thus ensuring a Democrat victory.

That’s exactly what is being proposed by the following group:

Nope. No mouse in my pocket. Some very good Freepers and Tea Party Patriots have put together an action plan that is new, vibrant, and comprehensive. It is all of us working together. We had to be able to spell it out and come to a consensus, which we have finally done. Now we are almost ready to launch. You might be very surprised at what we came up with.
FR has always been a bastion of ideas. Some exceptionally good thinkers here.
The idea behind it is to move the rinos out and retake the Republican Party piece by piece and state by state. We have the numbers. This is very possible. Witholding our donations from the national party and donating to specific candidates, nationalizing every seat, we rule.

Tea Party will lead itself by the IDEAS which are spawned from within itself.
