(CNN) - Lincoln Chafee Monday will formally announce his bid for Rhode Island governor Monday.

The former Republican senator-turned-independent will officially jump into the race at an event in Warwick, where he once served as mayor.

The 56 year old Chafee lost his U.S. senate seat in 2006 to Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse after a bitter Republican primary battle against Stephen Laffey. Chafee eventually left the GOP and is now an independent.

Call of the RINO in the wild——if RI-ers prefer Democrat-lite he’s the man. Traitorous SOB and don’t expect any economic relief with this jerk as Gov. Then again, RI-ers are expert when electing creeps.

May his bid cost him lots of money, and end in utter defeat!
It’s the Peter principle on steroids.
Today’s politicians have complete contempt for the people, and think they can do anything they want because they have name recognition.

Why can't these LOSERS just fade away into the night?
First Mike DeWine is running for AG and now this creep.

I guess Marvin Metrosexual (AKA Lincoln Chafee) just couldn’t make it on the outside. He needs the warmth, reassurance and tenure that only a government job can provide. Good Luck, you Rhode Islanders.

So THAT's what the dull roar in the background was. It was the public clamor demanding 'we want Chafee, WE want Chafee', WE WANT CHA-fee'.

I'm glad that's cleared up now.

Amazing, the two dumbest members of the 2006 Senate are now running for positions where they could actually do damage, governorships.

The other one is Minnesota.

Why do the Chafee like politicians run as republicans? He never sounded republican to me. He was not a benefit to republicans when we had the House and Senate. Chafee, also, seemed sissy.

He’s ran for everything in this state, including both senate seats, a congressional seat (I think) and the Governorship, twice. He’s jumped the shark.

But, but it’s public service and they’re giving up so much to serve the people. These “public servants” make me sick. It does go to prove that they can’t make it in the real world.

Chaffee did the impossible and made even the RINOs look good (by comparison). One of Bush’s worst moments was supporting him for re-election...he NEVER supported the Republican Party. It was sick.
