News of Vice President Biden's low-key visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Christmas Day was buried in the wake of the terror attack on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 and the subsequent bungled response by his already vacationing boss, Barack Obama.
But for all the grief Obama rightly took for his exhorbitant, self-indulgent extended stay in Hawaii over Christmas and New Year's, Biden should be credited with spending much of his Christmas with our wounded warriors and their families.
As Free Republic's Walter Reed regulars know, Christmas at Walter Reed can be quite lonesome as the hospital and service groups work to send as many patients home for the holidays as they can for short visits. Those remaining at the hospital face an extra tough time.
The Hill was the only outlet to write a complete story about the visit:
Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden on Christmas Day made an unexpected visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
The couple attended the hospital's annual Christmas Day dinner,helped serve food and spent time thanking patients and their families for their military service.
The Bidens were expected to spend Christmas in Wilmington, Del., the vice president's hometown.
Afterwards, the Bidens visited with patients and families in the Intensive Care Unit who were unable to attend dinner.
According to Politico the news of the visit was came from: ...an updated daily guidance issued by the White House after the event. Previous guidances had said the Bidens had no public schedule for the day.
Fox News was also one of the few to report on Biden's visit.

I just hope Biden wasn't serving fish sticks again.
Biden hosted military families at the Vice President's residence on Thanksgiving.
To be honest, I’m not totally surprised. He’s not my cup of political tea, and has that gaffe thing going, but I DO think he’s a genuine American who respects our troops. So good on ole uncle Joe and Dr. Jill.

Bill Clinton also wrote a lot of letters to people when no one was looking. While I appreciate what Biden did as far as I am concerned this is the sort of thing I would expect someone in that position to do. In other words — thanks Mr VP for doing your job.

I look at his overall betrayal of the cause and choose to put this up as mostly a photo op.
Just like the spouse who ignores his obligation 11 months a year, and then gets all huggy kissy at Christmas time.

Believe it or not, I have always kinda liked Biden. I think he is a decent human being, I think he is probably not as liberal as the rest of them.
Biden may be a gaffe prone goof , but, he trumps Barry in every way.
He’s an American.

He has a son serving in the military.
He doesn’t treat the military like just a photo op.
He’s not a drug addict or alcoholic.
He can sing the National Anthem and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
He respects the American flag and American traditions.
He doesn’t know the words, nor can he sing, “ in pitch perfect Arabic “ the Muslim call to prayer.
He actually worships in a church.
He’s not a Muslim.
He’s not effeminate nor does he spend every waking hour with his special friend, Reggie Love.
No one has ever claimed to have done coke with him.
No one has ever claimed to have a homosexual relationship with him.
And his wife looks like a woman, not a hulking, juiced up tranny.
Well done Mr. Biden.

Perhaps Biden is starting to realize that Zero is a one-termer and that since he can’t be fired there’s no reason to stay locked away.
