No, not dwelling on why our founders established requirements for the presidency is “a loser for conservatives.” Having a British citizen father who also happened to abhor capitalism is why Obama is an illegitimate president. You and most of the others commenting on this thread would benefit greatly by taking a little time and reading the Constitution, and then any of the cases in which the definition of natural born citizen is restated - The Venus, Minor v. Happersett, Perkins v. Elg, John Bingham’s speach to the joint session in 1866 speaking for the 14th amendment. These are our foundations and it is sad to see that so few grasp why they were critical to our founders. Obama fits the archetype from whom they tried to protect this nation to a tee. He told us so repeatedly, “The constitution prevents me from doing what I believe is ...”. “If there were a war involving Muslims and I had to chose a side, my choice is Islam.” (I'm paraphrasing that quotation, since I don't have Obama’s first book beside me.) Obama’s “Joe the plumber” responce is to the point, and absolutely contrary to the bounds imposed by our Constitution.
All of our Senators signed a resolution claiming the John McCain was a natural born citizen because his parents, both of them, were citizens, even while he was born in Colon Panama (and not in the Canal Zone). They know the truth but understand that many or most of their constituents would consider denying anyone an office because of his parent's nationality discrimination. It is. It is like the profiling we may come to accept after losing an airplane or two. Our founders wanted to discriminate elements destructive to our principles and prevent them from holding the most powerful office in our nation.
