Please do not call them “agents”. That connotes a bit more professionalism than what I see displayed by the TSA.

Point well taken.

That said, there ARE exceptions, and I've had the pleasure to run into a few of them. I can recall 3 instances where I observed actual thinking going on, and skilled, almost el-Al brand of profiling, chatting up the passengers and looking them in eye, paying attention. I made a point of telling them that I appreciated they were on the job. Three instances are an anomaly, to be sure, but worth noting.

I wish there was some way to let those in power who are really interested in security know the really sharp ones that actually ahve the capability to keep us safe.
