The smearing of Joe McCarthy is one of the greatest crimes against the truth committed in the United States in the XX Century. However obnoxious he may have been, personally, he was telling the truth.

"McCarthyism", properly speaking would refer to a concerted effort in the direction of unmasking real traitors, spies, and enemy propagandists in positions of political or military power, or of social influence.

We need some "McCarthyism" right now, to unmask the socialists, fascists, and islamists currently infesting government and media.

I’d say the traitors are coming out voluntarily and exposing themselves.Don’t need a McCarthy. They feel safe with their mole in the whitehouse. In fact, they think they’ve won and will suffer no consequences. But I’m taking names.
