Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (Conn.), a leading Democrat whose political star fell along with the nation's economy, is expected to announce Wednesday that he has decided against running for reelection this November, according to sources briefed on the decision. Dodd, in his fifth term, chairs the Senate Banking Committee. His retirement would be the second such announcement by a Senate Democrat in 24 hours; North Dakota's Byron Dorgan said Tuesday that he would not run this fall.

exactly. I worry that the GOP will get to cocky with this. All the dems are doing now purging the bad candidates while there is time, something the GOP should have done years ago.

Here in Ct. the Majority of voters are Like the Black Community ,they continue to vote for Democrats even as they see them destroy the Country. In the Case of the Black Community they have seen their Families destroyed by Give away programs and they continue to vote over 90 percent for the people who do it to them.
In the Case of Dodd ,the news people are already touting another Slime bag Democrat Richard Blumenthal Attorney General as the Most Popular Politician in the State as Dodds Replacement,Stupid is as Stupid does.

Crap, that is not good. We could have beat him with a republican. Now, Blumenthal or some other liberal rat will be able to win.

I was somewhat surprised by the news but considering how badly he’s polling and how popular State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is, it was in the cards. His push to get Health Care Reform will get him a lucrative position in the health industry or in the BO Admin, although with BO’s numbers tanking, I suspect it may be the former.

Dodd, like the other quitters will make every effort to cause maximum damage the country like a foreclosed homeowner trashes a house.

So Sara Palin is a quitter but Dodd and these others are not?

Exactly. He and the dhimmicRATs have systematically destroyed the wealth of America’s retirees, those about to retire and the future wealth of our children.

Throw out the whole lot. All of them. Start over completely.

I wonder how much personal security a scumbag like Dodd gets while in the Senate? He would seem to be more vulnerable out of office.

Agreed. The Dodd resignation almost assures that the seat will remain in the hands of the crimorats. These guys may be corrupt, but they aren’t totally stupid.

So these gutless Rats are gonna wreck the country and then run off to their lucrative lobbying positions, too big off cowards to even face the voters they betrayed. What a bunch of slimeballs. They should be prosecuted.

Absolutely. They will all go from six figure salaries, to seven figure salaries. They will be Lobbieists, Health Care executives, Fannie and Freddie bonus takers, Carbon traders, you name it. This is why they don’t give a s#*t about re-election. Republicans did the same thing last go around. Public service my ass. It has always been my contention, that, a full two thirds of Congress belongs behind bars.

Don’t worry, Richard Blumenthal has the charisma of cold dishwater, I think the Repubs still have a good chance of picking up this seat.

I also think this could be a bad thing.

They will do as much damage as possible knowing they don't have to face reelection, and the new democrat vying for their seat can distance himself from the bad decisions by taking different stands and drawing contrasts to fool voters into another 6 years of democrat rule.
