This comes from Business Insider, and it provides a natural follow-up to my post from last week as to why public-sector workers are more optimistic than private-sector employees. For the first time, the US has more government workers than goods-producing workers:
The significant dropoff comes from the sharp increase in unemployment over the last year.

Graph says it all...
Seems everyone but govment workers are feeling my pain.
Time to go Galt!!
I knew it was getting close to where the system will have to start imploding from the weight of the NON-producers. It is NOW!!!
The next great conflict(whatever shape it will take) will not be between the states. It will be between the public sector and its proxies, and the rest of us.
And that is what is so scary.
The statists will not go quietly into the night.
They will use more and more “laws” to STEAL from the rest of us, to keep themselves alive.
Sigh.

CHART OF THE DAY: How The Government Payroll Replaced Goods-Producing Jobs
**************************EXCERPT*****************************
In the just-so story of the evolution of our economy , our old manufacturing based economy has been replaced by an innovative knowledge economy. That's not quite true.
In fact, the decline of the jobs in goods producing sectors of the economy--construction, manufacturing, mining and agriculture--has largely been met with an increase in jobs on the government payroll.
CHART OF THE DAY: You Should Have Gone Into The Public Sector
Maybe I need to look for a gubmit job.
