Storyboarding the News: How the MSM Turned the Honduran Crisis into A Comic Book
Big Journalism ^ | January 6, 2010 | Mark Klugmann

To “storyboard the news” is to replace straight news reporting with a pre-shaped comic-book narrative, an edited fable sustained by selective reporting.

Victims of media fraud suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder will be excused for hearing the phrase as a riff on Guantanamo, that “storyboarding the news” occurs when the MSM submerges the facts underwater until the truth surrenders.

The MSM and the Obama administration did an automatic knee jerk to side with a leftist (i.e. Marxist) thug before they even examined any of the facts. They jerked so far into the mud that it took them months to walk the story back without losing face.

Not at all surprising to me. I would have been shocked if they had done something different.

And good on the Hondurans for preserving their constitution, enforcing the rule of law and not caving to the leftist agi-prop. I have much respect for them.

It is of a pattern. What the "obama administration" has done since at least last January is likewise unconscionable and incomprehensible.

“Storyboarding the news” is a terrific meme which explains much about the MSM and the molding of opinions today.

We certainly are living in an age of pop culture and ‘accepted truths’. The “educated people” - according to David Brooks - are going to be Very Surprised next November, when the “uneducated people” make their choices in the ballot box.

Speaking of “storyboarding”, the Sun on its incredibly shrinking sheets of paper, still has room for Doonesbury on its editorial page every day.

Thanks for the ping. Outstanding article. Reminds me of the old high school chemistry/biology/physics class: "Draw your graph - then plot your data" form of data processing. Now, it's not only standard in journalism it's how our president makes national policy. Aren't we lucky?

Regards,

TS

Admitted cocaine and pot user, Barack 0bama, and Hillary Clinton (who wrote a thesis on Saul Alinsky in college) lied about Honduras.

Big Journalism looks like it will become a must-go-to website.

Hooray for Andrew Breitbart! A brilliant brain in a conservative mind, with business skills to boot.

Thanks for the ping. This is the best I have seen on this subject. Bottom line, Obama and his media allies tried to support their ideological soul-mate’s attempt to set himself up as a dictator like Castro and Chavez.

Great analysis.

An analysis that tells you everything you need to know about the Kenyan Traitor. All in the context of a small Central American country. You don't need to know anything about macroeconomics, health care, global warming, Islamism, Yemen, or whatever. Everything you need to know about the President of the United States can be deduced from how he handled Honduras!
