Thanks
The WaPO link reports on the USA sending them back to Yemen. Not on the Yemenese letting them go after they got there.
Or am I confused. I thought the JAWA story was the Yemenese let these GITMO detainess go after the assued the USA they wouldn’t?
Fair enough. Credit where due, though.
I stole if fair and square from Oorang...
So far?
He got a dog.
He canceled the F-22 program (The guy who suggested this said it would free up more funds for the F-35!)
That’s pretty much it.
I keep hoping someone will find something. *sigh*
I’m very series!
He got a dog.
He already had a Wookie...
I’m running out of facepalms.
Later - I’m going to take a shower.
Here you go. I took me about two minutes to find it.

Yemeni PSO frees the Six Yemeni Gitmo Returnees back to their Daily Life
HOOD: We hope YG will support their reintegration into society Tuesday 05 January 2010 132010000000Tue, 05 Jan 2010 13:50:37 +0300 01 PM / written by: Radhia Khairan- HOODONLINE, edited by: Jane Novak
After being held for nearly a week, the Yemeni Political Security Office set free the six Yemenis returned from Guantanamo Naval Base detention facility in Cuba where they were held for more than six years, a Yemeni security authentic source confirm this to HOOD.
Upon their return to Yemen on Dec. 20th, the Political Security Office in Sanaa transferred each detainee to the PSO detention facility at his home governorate where they remained for another week before they were able to secure guarantors.
Jamal Muhammad Alawi Mari, Farouq Ali Ahmed, Ayman Saeed Abdullah Batarfi, Muhammaed Yasir Ahmed Taher, Fayad Yahya Ahmed al Rami and Riyad Atiq Ali Abdu al Haf were cleared to return to Yemen by the U.S. Justice Department.
Therefore, HOOD urges the Yemeni government to assist the returning detainees and help them reintegrate to their families and society, and praises the exerted efforts to set the others free.
The U.S. government has concerns about the disturbed security situation in Yemen; however, it scores good marks towards accelerating the process of closing the notorious detention center where Yemenis account for over 90 of the inmates who remain at Guantanamo.
Since the detention center in Guantanamo Bay opened in early 2002, 21 Yemenis who were deemed not to be a threat have been repatriated: 14 by the Bush administration and 7 by the Obama administration.
Thank you RR for the ping.
No surprise.
Likely prearranged.
Rick: How can you close me up? On what grounds?
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.
Captain Renault: [aloud] Everybody out at once!
I always appreciate your information here.In no way was my request for a link reporting the Yemenis released the Gitmo detainees intended to cast aspersions on you. I am sorry you misunderstood my question.
I just was trying to understand who reported that Yemen had released the detainees. I do not know who NGOHood is so I did not realize it was the source of the release information.
I did go to the Wapo link you provided. It Was a story on the USA sending the detainees to Yemen. It did not mention Yemen releasing the detainees.
The only other story I could find on the 6 detainees was this Wall St Journal story from Tuesday that speaks of Yemen still holding the 6 detainees, will hold indefinetly.
From WSJ Jan 05
“Six Yemeni nationals repatriated last month from Guantanamo Bay will remain in the Sana’a government’s custody indefinitely as part of a deal reached between the Obama administration and Yemen, U.S. officials said.”

Perhaps the WSJ got duped.
Al-Badawi was sentenced to death by a Yemeni court in 2004; he then "escaped" from jail in 2006. He is now back in the terrorist game in Yemen along with al-Quso. The Yemeni government has refused U.S. extradition requests. That must change now.
Obamanation stopped the US Cole trials in midstream, with the horrified families of the murdered sailors in the Gitmo courtroom. AFAIK, there has been ZERO talk about when, where, or IF the trials will resume.
I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but the rule of statistics can only be disregarded so long.
The usurper made a deal.
I’m not much on conspiracy theories either but I agree completely with you on this, boats.
Looks like it’s time for a sternly worded letter.
Yemen held them for a week, that was for re-training.
