Now, a Tea Party has formed in the state of Florida. Does it make sense that someone who is truly conservative would want to divide the Republican votes? How does this keep democrats from continuously taking seats?
America is a country where people are constantly trying to better themselves financially. The get rich quick scams are proof of that. Interesting enough, we are also a society based on the internet and if you let your fingers guide you, the truth can be revealed. Lets talk about some truths.
Truth 1: The creator of the Tea Party is an Orlando based attorney named Frederic ONeal.
Truth 2: Frederic ONeal donated $500 on September 17th 1992 to the Democrat National Committee (DNC)

If a Democrat is as upset about the corruption and direction our government is taking us and believes the Tea Party is the solution, then I for one welcome them with open arms.
As far as a donation, I can see where it makes sense business wise for an attorney to give to a Democrat if they have substantial work from politically oriented clients. I can also see the need for such a person to simultaneously work to change the status of this powerful party.
The Tea Party should have libs. Former libs who are sick of what their party has become and have discovered their own "inner conservative".
Your sentiments are sound in theory.
In practice, that’s when the difference comes into play.

This is stalinism.
As this thread seems to indicate among many others on this board there is a real divide on the right. Those who will vote GOP no matter who it is and those who will only vote for conservative/traditional candidates...GOP or not.
The plan is to restrict the mother's milk of campaigning, money.
If we continue to support only conservatives with our dough the RNC/GOP will get it sooner or sooner.
“I will *not* hold my nose and vote again, ever.”
Right on, Sis! The Dem’s and Rep’s will both hand you a **** sandwich if you’re not paying attention.
We would not have our current congress and administration if not for the malfeasance of republicans during the last decade.
Let’s keep separate in our minds the spontaneous movement of middle American Patriots that has demonstrated our concern about the Marxist takeover, from an opportunist in Florida doing some manipulating of his own. Two different entities - one genuine and open, the other phony and devious.
You have accurately described the subject at hand. The Damn-O-Rats simple took the name and made a political party out of it to split the conservative vote.
The Tea Party Patriots are sincere people and will (mostly) see through this leftist "going rOUge" kind of trick.
There will be millions of Tea Partiers protesting this year. It is going to be huge!
How do we change it though? They have no incentive to change; people like you will vote for them whatever they do, all they have to do is not have the name “The Democratic Party”.
But I trace it back a bit further to Woodrow Wilson (the first Progressive President) and make it a 96 year war.
Some would take it further back to Theodor Roosevelt or even Lincoln. But me I think the first thoroughly Statist president would be Wilson.
I recently called my two RINO Senators to complain about how poorly Obama had been vetted. One secretary **yelled** at me and would not let me even speak. She **YELLED** repeatedly that Obama was a natural born citizen. The other merely argued with me that Obama was natural born. Of course this RINO underling used every DOJ talking point ever used by the trolls here on Free Republic.
I was **DISGUSTED**!!!!!
( And...Yes, I am shouting. I am exasperated with RINOs. I can't stand them!)
I hope so.
A third party is a fools errand. It can only succeed in electing more Dimocraps.
There are already third parties out there; the Conservative Party, the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party that already promote some or most of the conservatives core issues.
But all of these people if they were in active and vocal in the Republican Party they would have much more influence and impact on the countries future.
By being on the outside they have little or no influence.
The only thing they gain by being in these small third parties is comradery and people to listen to them complain.
