Paulycy's comment need to be repeated...

Pardon me for yelling but...

NO CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION IS REQUIRED.

We have a perfectly good Constitution already.

What we need is a NEW CONGRESS and POTUS.

Thanks for your indulgence.

a)Clearly define the meaning of socialism. Especially with respect to the government takeover of private businesses and banks.

b)Make sure we the people are not prevented from reviewing all bills being voted on by Congress. The legislative process must be transparent.

c)All bills must be read thoroughly before a legislator can vote on it.

d)Congress must govern according to the will of the people. The only except would be n the case of a national emergency such as war or natural or man-made disaster.

These are suggestions and should be worded appropriately and clearly.

The last thing in the world we want is a Constitutional Convention. The left has all the organization and manpower and will be able to Constitutionalize the very things we are trying to prevent.

My initial thot, and I couldn’t agree with you more!!

I agree kind of. The states first need to unplug from the current federal gov't, then convene a constitutional convention. Stop sending the current federal gov't money; let it shrivel into nothing. Send the old gov't and special interests to Hades together. Restore the original constitution, and mandate tort and political reform (especially political parties). Of course, we need an educated and determined electorate to do it.

The real constitution is in people’s hearts and minds.

The written constitution only reflects that.

then convene a constitutional convention

Strongly disagree. We do not need a constitutional convention. Once you open the patient the best way to let it die is to just do nothing.

A constitutional convention would be subject to terrible corruption and misuse and instead of getting back what we already have in the existing Constitution we would lose or change what we treasure most because it would not be re-constructed as carefully and as fairly as it was originally written.

I do agree that the states need to tell the federal government to take a hike. That is something that may be forced on them soon and I hope they take up the challenge.

Still I think these states that get out would have to get together in some ways (trade, treaties..etc.) in order to survive. Washington won’t die quietly. We know them too well to think that.

They do have command of the armed forces, at least formally.

Yeah, then there’s all of those military bases that are in the states. We could have another Ft. Sumter. The states do have their own militias.

That's true, too. But I was kinda hoping they'd fight it out in the Supreme Court as long as we have at least a minimal conservative advantage.

numbers 1 & 2 give unlimited taxation ability to an entity that can use force and death to get there... this is a stupid idea...

just return to the true meaning of the constitution... it already has a provision to handle debt... the states are responsible for the difference according to their population... that will stop the spending...

no more withholding or income taxes, ban the irs and stop the ability to feed the beast.

teeman8r

number 10... god can always be wherever you want him to be... that is the beauty of the 1st amendment... no need for another.

Isn’t the International Economic Development Council a Soros group? Fruth just came out with a list of most economically viable communities.
