Christmas Day Terror Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

DETROIT — A Nigerian man pleaded not guilty Friday to charges that he tried to blow up a packed U.S. Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas Day.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab said little during a federal court hearing that lasted less than five minutes. The 23-year-old, who wore a white T-shirt, tennis shoes and light olive pants, said "yes" in English when asked if understood the charges against him.

Authorities say Abdulmutallab was traveling from Amsterdam when he tried to destroy the Northwest Airlines plane carrying nearly 300 people by injecting chemicals into a package of explosives concealed in his underwear. The failed attack caused popping sounds and flames that passengers and crew rushed to extinguish.

A grand jury indicted Abdulmutallab on six charges earlier this week. The most severe carries up to life in prison — the attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.

Bruce Springsteen will be most pleased. He belly-ached continuously on his tours the last few years about terrorists not getting their day in American courts.

I'm thinking he is going to go with the Chewbacca defense.

...ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!

Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a man who thought it was a good idea to blow up his own underpants. Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

If anyone of us “non-intellectuals” forget this sabotage of the American Constitution, we should all burn. This blatant display of PC corruption of everything this country was founded upon has gone far enough. Will anyone call this power play for what it is? The disgust is palpable!

Not guilty?....L.O.L....as if the smoke coming out of his shorts wasn’t enough evidence to get him hanged.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. And when/if he does go to trial, who thinks these bleeding heart juries will convict the poor, widdle terrorist, er, um, alleged would-be-perpetrator of a man made disaster?

Dude I think his stones got burned off in the incident that he now says didn't happen.

As i said in another thread.
If his pants are lit, you must acquit.
