Let's see, should we be pleased that some imams are coming out against terrorism, or merely disgusted that the rationale, as always, must be about condemning "attacks on Muslims" -- as though THAT is the reason that terror attacks in North America are evil?

But if there were few if any Muslims here and they all lived in a remote part of Saskatchewan, then Muslims blowing up our people, planes, and cities just wouldn't be any big deal????????

I think what they are implying is that America and Canada should be protected against attack by Muslims as Muslims are also a part of the community in both countries - which is true.

This looks like a positive overture and should be accepted as such.

Well, at least they are saying they are happy here...we are always complaining, and me the first to do it, that never one muslims in US are talking against terrorists - for once they do it so let’s keep an open mind. You know me - I am totally against the islamist invasion but if these guys finally would accept to be American before they are muslims and would defend America first..I guess we have at least to listen - if they really mean it and PROVE it then we have to praise them. What do you think?

It's a start, and certainly better than anything I have seem from any Muslim group to date. The next step would be condemning terrorism simply because it is terrorism. Without that Islam will remain a belligerent ideology to all humanity.

I noticed that they weren’t concerned about attacks on non-Muslims and they aren’t condemning that aspect of terrorism.

What’s alarming is that they are so concerned that the attacks may harm muslims. Are there that many of them who have infiltrated us so far that it’s become a legitimate concern to them that some muslims might be collateral damage in the event of a terrorist attack?
