U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

Not sure if you all have seen this. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto. The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

On Wednesday the Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States. The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

Apparently, the Constitutional scholar in the White House did not understand the concept that "...Government derives its just power from the consent of the governed...". Pity.

Any effort to ban our guns will result in a wholesale revocation of consent.

Ya, when laws get too outta hand, people ignore them.

Any attempt at crazy gun controls would mushroom into complete chaos. I can see it now, vigilantism across America which would lead to his downfall or impeachment. OB would realize pretty quick where the power really is.

I don't doubt he would try to pass a treaty; enforcing it would be another matter. Stupid me, he would have the UN going from house to house confiscating; once they figured out how to get the Africans over there to do as the UN tells them.

I remember people talking about such things when the Slickster was Prez, never happened, pendulum swung back to the repubs.

Gun rights is growing, not gun control across America; and most people don't care about euro treaties anyway.

Don't go hiding under the bed just yet.

Meaningless alarmism. It doesn’t matter what Obama and/or Clinton agree to. If the Senate doesn’t ratify, it’s dead in the water.

Elections matter......and 6 months ago the 3rd rails of politics seemed to be fading.
The outright feces-in-your-face attitudes of Pelosi and Reid have awakeneded a once sleeping electorate.

Now stay awake Patriots....we are all on-duty 24X7....

Absolutely agree.

My take is this: "if" the Republicans don't turn over a new leaf, and run and support more-conservative candidates in 2010, Sarah Palin will run in 2012 as the "Tea Party" candidate ("Republican in Name Only", but in the GOOD sense), and the Republican party will (rightly) die, to be replaced by the "Tea" Party (or whatever it chooses to call itself at the time).

The Republicans are where the Federalists were when Andy Jackson ran, and where the Democrats were when Lincoln ran.

Good post.

“We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public.”

“We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership.”

“And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.”

If this scenario should take place, the government itself will wake up the following morning to find 175 MILLION gun-owner Patriots on their doorstep......armed. They will be forced to re-think their traitorous decision.

It’s a 24/7 job just watching what is happening behind all of their distractions, healthcare etc.

That’s why we belong to the NRA, JPFO, SAF, GOA.

“Any effort to ban our guns will result in a wholesale revocation of consent.”

And THAT’S just for starters. Then it will get VERY NOISY HERE for a time — especially around government offices.

We can revoke consent in November 2010 and again in 2012, and we can revoke consent from a considerable distance in case of emergency.

Presicely. Nothing else accounts for the suicide bomber-like behavior of Congress and the Senate. If they'er acting as if being re-elected isn't important, then...
