The market has filled the need for more grains. We just harvested the largest corn crop in the history of America, possibly in the entire history of the world.
Overproduction has been an annual threat to the American farmer for more than fity years, 2009 was no exception.
The production abilities of the Amercan farmer have been throttled out of necessity, 2010 production could easily be increased by 10 or 15%, even starting at this late date.

Which was my understanding, there was a large harvest this year across the board, and if anything Ethanol production has scaled back with dropping fuel prices.
So why the sturm and drung from Monckton? There are several ag regions of the world that are no where near capacity and that has nothing to do with Ethanol.

The ethanol incentives are aimed at US producers, there are huge swaths of globe that also produce grains that have no indigineious Ethanol mandates.
Russia, Austrailia, Ukraine etc, the market is not meeting demand, or those starving are simply to impoverished to purchase food.

How many people have died because they were denied access to DDT? No problem, scratch an ecologist and you'll find a eugenist and the people who died were Unmenschen in the eyes of the enlightened.

That would be the estimable Lord Monckton...

Thanks - yes Lord Monckton.
I read the article, and I've seen some of his excellent Youtube videos from Copenhagen, but I can never remember his name (... single syllable names are my preference...).

Perhaps padre35 was trying to be sardonic.

Excellent point.
The ecologist-eugenist connection and their disdain for 'useless eaters' cannot be overemphasized.

Rachel Carson killed about 60 million people.
It looks like Al Gore et.al. are on track to wipe out at least 10 times that number.
Isn’t “progress” grand?
