Guess what Steve; us conservatives will be running the show from here on out. And guess what? You are fired.
We only want people with core values; you have none. Go. Be gone.
To: HereInTheHeartland
Yes indeed. He is most certainly fired.

Schmidt should thank his lucky stars for Sarah Palin for without her, the ruins of McCain’s landmark defeat - that would have made McGovern’s look like a nail-biter - would rest heavily upon Schmidt’s shoulders.

“but I half expect McCain to take issue publically with much of what he said tonight.”
Naturally, he is subject to a serious challenge from JD Hayworth for this year’s primary. He has already gone faux-indignant on the Senate floor, days late and trillions of dollars short. Now he goes off on Obama but he had his chance during the campaign and flubbed that too with the stupid answer to the lady worried about an Obama Presidency.
The other person who must be going underground now will be Nicolle Wallace and her husband who were Schmidt’s chosen handlers of Sarah. It was Nicole who set up the Couric interview and lulled Sarah into thinking it would be a puff piece because she knew Couric because she used to work for her.
Sarah was setup all along and when Sarah was sure of the underhanded crap from Schmidt and Wallace that she decided that “Going Rouge” was the only way she was going to get her message out. That is when they went nasty negative on her and laid the groundwork for their friends in the media on an orchestrated campaing to bury her.
Roast in Hell you swarmy SOB’s.

Steve Schmidt continues to destroy any chance he has of working on future campaigns. He can no longer be a "behind the scenes person", and a very large bloc of voters will be against anyone who hires him. Pawlenty is certainly off my Christmas Card list.
Somebody must be paying Steve Schmidt lots of money to keep publicizing his own failure. He was probably also paid to throw the McCain race.

The dems Sarah Palin theme song...
Just Running Scared,
Each Place I go,
Running Scared,
That it might show....
They're all about to wee wee all over themselves they're so afraid of her. It's a hoot to watch.
I personally haven't heard Sarah tell a lie, but but if she had told a hundred of them she'd still be a piker compared to the Lyin' African.

I’m with you. I hope this is Schmidt’s final exit. I hope he knows he’s finished. It’s uncouth to rat-out the inner-workings of a campaign in the first place, but it’s quite another for a man to trash a lady and that’s what he has done. How dare he trash Sarah with such fierce lies. She didn’t know World War I from World War II or Korea! Bull F’n Sheet. He talked about like she was a high school drop out.
I’m livid. Schmidt will pay and pay dearly. I hope none of us buy his book.
As for McCain. He had better speak up for Sarah and he had better speak up fast and loudly and all on the news shows. I want the senate seat to remain in Republican hands so JD Hayworth better announce his candidacy soon, like tomorrow.

Did Schmidt give specific examples of untruths? I don't recall the campaign having to respond to any untruths of Palin.
Schmidt started toward the end of the campaign to put the blame on Palin for his own pathetical strategy and execution of his campaign plan. The only good thing the McCain campaign did was to choose Palin.

The politician who has done the most championing of gay rights? Dick Cheney. The beloved Democrat, Barrack Hussein Obama, not so much.
Revisionist (current) history. Palin, btw, endorsed and provided (as Alaska Gov) benefits for same sex couples.
But that is conveniently overlooked and distorted by Schmidthead.

“very calm - nonplussed” Mr. Schmidt needs a dictionary. 'Non-plussed' means confused. Nonplussed: nonchalant. Who knows what them there double barreled words mean anyway?

I volunteered for McCain/Palin. Mr Schmidt's organizing skills were no where to be noticed.
Sarah Palin gave the only energy to be found in the entire campaign. The dweebs like Steve Schmidt sought to dampen that energy.
Maybe Mr Schmidt can become a extra in Ice Road Truckers.

He has on Mona Charen and John Fund on the Mass. race. Lot of good info and comments

Isn’t Schmidt also the one who said the Republicans were moving to close to God issues and the Christian Right?
