MARK FOR LATER!
Conservatives ARE hard to find. They’ve been pushed out by Rinos.
I’ll add that the point of the thread is to find the conservatives and support them. It will take a lot of work and effort to co-ordinate such a task but I hope we’re successful. The unfortunate thing is that not every area will have a conservative running.
I have been a part of FR since 1998, I've contributed during that entire period, I've stood up for the 2nd amendment, conservative candidates, and conservative causes with more than just words but also with cash and my presence.
I have been a part of the religious forum since its inception, and have argued for open debate and have supported the inclusion of devotional and caucus threads.
As a retired US Army Chaplain, I have stood up on FR and elsewhere for the 1st amendment...an amendment that BEGINS with religious rights. Particularly, it says there shall be no established religion and that everyone shall have the right of free expression of religion.
In the same way as the 2nd amendment makes no exceptions to the right to keep and bear arms, the 1st amendment makes no exceptions to the right to free expression.
If standing up for this clear, constitutional provision makees me liable to have "bad things happen to (my) account", then say so.
If you were not referring to those like me, then say that.
If this is some kind of thread protected from debate, then at least have the courtesy of the religion moderator who calls some threads "caucus" threads, so we know not to participate on them. Instead of "methodist caucus" or "protestant caucus" or "catholic caucus", you could call it by some name such as "Anti-Islam Caucus", so we know not to debate those high and lofty ideals such as no religious rights for other than Judeo-Christian Americans.
I am a fully ordained, active Elder in my denomination. I have 24+ years of military service to this nation. I have relatives now serving in the war zone, including a son, and I am a long-time Freeper. I deserve clarity.
I would also be interested in a response to this.
As far as I could tell, the problems on the other thread were the result of P-Marlowe raising LEGITIMATE CONCERNS over plans to curtail the First Amendment.
If FR wants to have an ongoing thread about getting rid of the RINOs, count me in, I am behind that 100%. I openly supported Sarah Palin for VP months before most FReepers knew who she was. I think these can be great threads, IF they stick to their stated goals. I am even willing to ignore the fact that they are supporting a RINO in Massachusetts.
I can understand that the moderators were upset about the other thread, but I don’t recall any moderators doing anything on the thread prior to locking it. Did things get out of hand on the other thread? Probably. But if “bad things will happen to their accounts” for being in a flamewar, there probably wouldn’t be many FReepers left.
So xzins and wags, since I dragged you into the fray on the last thread, I can't leave you guys out there on your own. As Ben Franklin said when signing the Declaration of Independence "We must all hang together or most assuredly we will all hang separately". Since you guys have put your necks on the line, consider mine as being on the line as well.
JFK’S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60’s when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaule said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded “does that include those who are buried here?
DeGuale did not respond.

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.
He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.’

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying ‘Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?’
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: ‘Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear p owered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several hundred thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?’

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, ‘Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’

Robert Whiting , an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
“You have been to France before, monsieur?” the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
“Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”
The American said, ‘The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.”
“Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !”
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ‘’Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.”

Speaking of RINOs, it looks pretty certain that soon Norm Coleman will be running for Gov. here in MN...
“We must all hang together or most assuredly we will all hang separately”
I don’t remember any of us “flaming”. We stood up responsibly for the Constitution’s First Amendment and for that were called ignorant, Nazi, fascist, dumb, rino, anti-american and even one of us was called a g—l, but I think we disproved that particular calumny.
Now we’re talking!!
Be Ever Vigilant!!
In whatever order!
Actually a Palin/Petraeus ticket would be good if Petraeus were given the sorts of responsibilities that Cheney had. The VP office has no inherent power outside of being tiebreaker in the Senate so the effectiveness of the VP depends entirely on what the P allows. I have no notion of Petraeus’s social issues views and would love to know more.
Still looking for volunteers to start their state threads. Salem, you are in CA. I see you have been here for a long time so you know your way around, will you, or do you know someone who would start a CA thread and start getting the info on your “likely” national candidates up and going? ALL help is gratefully accepted.
The sooner we get that part done, at least the setups, the sooner we can index the threads on ONE thread with links to all of them.
Thanks, you guys.
I am not sure Petraeus wants to get into a political race. At this juncture, I am not positive that even Sarah is going to run. It LOOKS like she will, but she hasn’t said so, so all we can do is speculate for now.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to start looking at Petraeus. How about you start.
Back when we had a grasssroots effort to draft John Bolton, he sort of broke our hearts by refusing to run. I wouldn’t want to start hoping too soon and get dashed again...
WE DON’T NEED NO STINKING RINOS !!!
Hardraade, you are new here. Please be advised that no responses to posts about islam are welcome on this thread. There are other threads where this is better discussed. Thank you.
Mesta
AND WE DON’T WANT THEM EITHER!!!
Let’s move it, folks! Anyone who will start a state thread, freepmail me, PLEASE!
