JBS is a step up from most republican organizations.

Rush was there 2009. He ain’t a RINO is he? (okay in a lot of cases the speakers are RINO)

This thread will be ugly. Beck is probably the best voice we have as conservatives and people will trash his appearance before he even speaks.

I look forward to Beck telling these people the truth and their hearing loud and clear what it is that they are doing wrong. Faulting Beck for trying (or, even before he has a chance to try) to speak for us will not look good.

Means nothing to me. Do RINOs let Ann Coulter speak at their events? Glenn Beck? Limbaugh? Tancredo?

Aren’t all the people you just mentioned AFTER-BIRTHERS? I think they are facing cred issues too for that very reason.

No. You can be conservative and ignorant on some issues. FR is full of such people, me excepted.

You missed the memo. Sarah Palin isn’t going, so CPAC is now evil.

It will be interesting to see how they handle Rubio showing up. Or not, I’m sure they’ll be hypocritically selective in who they attack for speaking at CPAC.

"...The CPAC organizers said they weren't sure what they're going to do if CPAC outgrows the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel..."

Shouldn't be too difficult: the Marriotts (my neighbors in Tuftonboro, NH) are Mormon.

“No. You can be conservative and ignorant on some issues. FR is full of such people, me excepted.”

I think everyone you mentioned thinks Birthers are nuts, therefore they have lost creds with alot of people. More then 70% of those polled think there is an issue concerning “Light-Skinned Dark Lord Sauron H. Obama with No Negro Dialect except if he needs it” BC issue.

“Liberty University Law School has withdrawn as a co-sponsor of next month’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington because a Republican homosexual activist group is being allowed to co-sponsor the event. -—snip—— Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin recently rejected an invitation from David Keene to speak at CPAC. According to a source close to Palin, the event is a forum that will put “special interests over core beliefs” and “pocketbook over policy.”

I'd love to know who this "source close to Palin" is, and how many times she/he has actually attended CPAC over the years since Ronald Reagan first spoke at CPAC in 1974. I get a kick out of these people who have never (or rarely) attended CPAC who think they know what it's all about and what its "agenda" is.

CPAC 2010 Cosponsors

CPAC 2010 Exhibitors

Rush Limbaugh's CPAC 2009 speech

As I've said on other CPAC-bashing threads, I will report back after I go to CPAC next month if CPAC has indeed morphed into a "RINOfest". I highly doubt it will because of a couple of obscure cosponsors...

Limbaugh has repeatedly said that Obama has not produced a real birth certificate. And not just when he’s joking. Don’t know where Tancredo stands on it.

Your link indicates that both GOPROUD and John Birch Society are sponsors. A recent article indicates that the latter ahas been taken over by Romney-bots, I mean Mormons.

I always here it’s not about “mormons”, but this thread sure sounds like it’s all about hating mormons.

Or maybe not — I’m not sure who the “Mormans” are.

By all means I think we should do our best to divide up the conservative movement going into the 2010 elections. We should chase away all the conservatives we disagree with, because god knows we don’t need conservatives to vote for our candidates either.

CPAC isn’t the holy grail of conservatism. But frankly, by the rabid isolationist conservative perspective, there is no such thing as a conservative gathering anymore, except maybe the Sarah Palin book signings.

FR is free of course to boycott whatever it wants, although I wasn’t expecting to see a web site walking into the room anyway. :-)

Um, no they really aren't. I've attended CPAC since 2003. CPAC 2008 was an unusual year where all the GOP presidential candidates showed up, including RINOs Romney, Giuliani and McCain. Also included: Ron Paul, Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Sam Brownback and Fred Thompson.

Over the years at CPAC I've seen VP Dick Cheney, John Bolton, Pres. George W. Bush, Phyllis Schlafly, Rep. Mike Pence, Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Sen. Tom Coburn, Sen. Mitch McConnell, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malking, Andrew Breitbart... the list goes on.

Sure, up until now the birthers have been a interesting distraction, but now we’re supposed to divide the conservative movement by it?

It’s not about Mormons, it’s about takeovers. I am also against the Catholic Church’s support of Global warming and the HC bill.

Yes, and the Marriot Hotel chain was founded by the Marriots, although they also have pay-per-view porn.

The Mormon religion is the most conservative religion in this country, with 59% of mormons being conservative, and only 8% liberal.

So of course, there are some conservatives who will do their best to try to push the Mormon conservatives out of the party. God forbid we ever come close to winning an election, and have to actually govern or something.
