NEW YORK (AP) -- A young American aid worker - trapped for about 10 hours under the rubble of her mission house that was destroyed in Haiti's earthquake - has been rescued by her husband.

Frank Thorp told CBS's "The Early Show" by phone from Haiti on Wednesday that he drove 100 miles to Port-au-Prince once he learned of the quake, and dug for over an hour to free his wife, Jillian, and her co-worker Charles Dietsch. The two were trapped under about a foot of concrete, he said.

Wait a minute. What time was the quake? He was 100 miles away and the wife and a “coworker” were at his house?

Hmmmmmmm.

Sexist. Womyn don’t need a MAN to save them! This is just another tool of the patriarchy exhibiting and declaring his power over and ownership of “his” woman! Long live Andrea Dworkin!

Haha.

God bless them both.

You read my mind. Be careful when you cheat, never know when a natural disaster could strike and trap you.

"We had to pull bricks and bricks and bricks and wood and doors and metal away for at least an hour before we were able to get her and her co-worker out," he said. Thorp is the son of retired Rear Adm. Frank Thorp, who retired in August as the Navy's chief information officer."

Good job Mr. Thorp. More help is on the way and Dear Lord give them wings to fly.

Obama is sending Coast Guard cutter to Haiti to bring them to America. Sure to bankrupt Florida.

... Haitian Ministries for the Diocese of Norwich, Conn. ...

I realize we are all just 'funnin' here but from the article (which I'm pretty sure you didn't read) these people were Christian Missionaries and it was the mission house that was destroyed. The man was also the son of retired Rear Adm. Frank Thorp. Part of a military family who was working to help others in a third world country. Some mission workers are still missing ... but I guess jumping to conclusions can become a habit for some people.

He should have sent our Army and Navy down there by now.

We need a “General Honore” on the ground there.

Freepers never fail to deliver - proudly not reading linked articles since forever. LOL!

Here is a small excerpt to help you out:

The executive director of Haitian Ministries for the Diocese of Norwich, Conn., Emily Smack, told CBS a security guard at the mission house is still missing. A housecleaner had severe injuries and may lose both legs, she said.

So there were 2 others there.

They were at the "mission house", ie their workplace.

Ten hours, and no neighbor did anything. Husband has to drive over to save her. I hope she's suitably grateful for the next few years...

Actually they are talking about sending some to Gitmo. I'm thinking Gitmo is going to get a MSM/PR makeover as Obama will dedicate a new wing there soon. There's no way he can close it now. He may even help promote Rush's Club Gitmo t-shirts. ;o)

This would be a definite upgrade for the folks of Haiti right about now.

Let Haitians invade Cuba versus Florida. They are already bankrupting us with other illegals.
