WORCESTER Against a backdrop of several chilly city police officers at police headquarters, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown today accepted the endorsement of the departments two major unions.
Local 911, New England Police Benevolent Association, and Local 504, International Brotherhood of Police Officers, handed their endorsement to Mr. Brown, one day after a debate that saw Mr. Brown and his main opponent, Democrat and Attorney General Martha Coakley spar just over a week before the special election to determine who will fill out late Sen. Edward M. Kennedys seat.
Sgt. Donald E. Cummings, president of Local 504, said Mr. Browns service in the National Guard showed that he knows the threat of terrorism is real, and understands the role public safety personnel play in protecting residents.
Stephen Gunnerson, president of Local 911 patrolmens union, called Mr. Brown a timeless advocate for public safety. He cited Mr. Browns support for Jessicas Law and Haleys Bill and his support for sex offender and CORI reform.
Mr. Brown also expressed his condolences to police over the death of Officer Mark D. Bisnette, who died from injuries suffered when his sport-utility vehicle left a road Jan. 2 in Holden and struck a pole.
Do any cops support their AG?!
Yikes. Croakly is fini.
Sounds like everything is moving in the right direction for Brown! Come on you MA freeps...get us this guy! Everyone donate! Conservatism will win out!
I love the smell of Victory in the morning!
Isn’t this pronounced WUR-STUR?
GOOD news for SCOTT BROWN!
No, it’s pronounced “Wistah”
Repeat after me, “I saw Aerosmith at the Wistah Centrum and they were wicked pissah.
I thought it was more like WOO-STUR
Ya beat me to it, and you’re right, too.
More like wuss-ster, but not exactly, lol.
No this is bigger...
This says I am not afraid of your arm twisting in the Mass House and Senate and locally for funding
This is telling all the nepotistic hack apparatchiks that have had even the "Cops" under their thumb "UP YOURS" we ain't playin' your game anymore....
IMHO as someone who grew up in Mass., this is HUGE.
Haha! You have revealed one of the great mysteries in America.
Coakly is TANKING!
We’ve taken Virginia! We’ve taken New Jersey! We’ve penetrated and fighting behind their lines. We’re inside the ‘Blue Command and Control’ state. If we win, the road will be clear when we turn and head for the rest of the country to wipe out clean out this infestation that’s clogged and rotted out our system.
I wonder if sentiment will change here when he starts his McCain aisle crossing RINO maverick act? I suspect there will be plenty of ‘buyer remorse’ in short order. I guess if you’re unacquainted w/ MA you don’t understand just how profoundly screwed up the place really is and how far in denial the R’s are.
You’re right. It’s wicked big.
The death grip of the Kennedy family is loosening.
How about we first win the election. If his only contribution is stopping Obamacare and throwing the dems into panic that will be enough. Sure as heck beats Coakley.
Just remembah: nevuh drink from the bubblahs at the Centrum: the watuh tastes like gahbidge.
WHOA! This is HUGH!
