There's nothing new in Bill Whittle's expose of radical Islam's influence in Washington, D.C. Long time readers of The Jawa Report will have known this from countless stories. Knowing this, then why am I still reeling? Go check them out at the links below.
The Islamic Infiltration, Part 1: Inside Our Government, Armed With Our Secrets
The Islamic Infiltration, Part 2: From Influence to Insurrection
I'm not 100% on board with the conclusions made by Bill Whittle's sources. I think much of the influence the Muslim Brotherhood has on US policy is made not so much out of a concerted effort of misinformation as much of it is out of a real belief that the faulty information is true. Such as: Islam is in no way connected to the vast majority of terrorism. I actually think Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR believes the drivel that often comes out of his mouth. In his mind Islam does = peace.
Which goes to the point that just because CAIR has supported Hamas charities in the past does not mean that the group exists solely as the propaganda arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood has a propaganda arm in the U.S. It's called the Islamic Society of North American.
Most of the damage done by CAIR comes through its constant denial that Islam is linked to terrorism or in inflating some of the most minor offenses as major civil rights violations. Its sensitivity training withing the federal government is dangerous because what they are selling simply isn't true, not because CAIR is secretly plotting the overthrow of the US government.
The danger of CAIR's deny-that-Muslims-are-behind-most-terror attitude can be seen in the Christmas Day bomb plot. Can someone tell my why, again, Abdulmuttalab was given secondary screening?
And that, I believe, is the real danger of CAIR.
