I know. I’m an engineer. You can get rebounding when you excavate in expansive soils. Once you remove a large depth of overburden compressing clay, the soil can expand or heave.

“I’m an engineer.” I gathered that - the idea of “rebound” is not a common one. I knew a now-deceased geologist that would argue years ago about the idea that “sea levels were lowering”. (Seattle Area). He kept arguing that the “ground is going up, not the water going down”. He was finally vindicated.
