You bet it’s good news that he brought that out, he always seems to find the very positive things about our military. We desperately need more people like him in the media and government.
What in the heck are 55,000 Americans doing in a country the size of West Virginia?? The population of Yemen is less than 24m.
Unbelievable. Everyone of those people need to be placed on the no-fly list, or at least be given extra scrutiny before flying. I’m sure B.O. has taken care of that! Thank goodness B.O. is on watch right now, protecting us all/SARCASM
No plan.
Obama still has not presented to Congress his National Security Strategy for the US as required by law.
It was due in July, 2009.
Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal, the Jordanian physician who blew himself up at the CIA base in Afghanistan last month, was a member of Yemen-based Hisbah.net, an online radical Islamic forum. Now we know that 55,000 Americans currently are “visiting, living or studying in Yemen.”
That stunning number is in a letter Rep. Frank Wolf, author of the 1998 legislation creating the National Commission on Terrorism, sent to the White House this week. The congressman points out that “all these individuals can fly back to the United States with American passports” and asks how the Obama administration plans to handle those who may be coming home radicalized and trained in terror.
Thank you piasa for the info.
I appreciate it.

...after we'd extract all 55,000 of our citizens, how many nukes do you think it would take to level Yemen?
Just curious, you know, just in case they keep flying on our air planes and getting 'frisky'.
I’ve always favored the Neutron Bomb. No radiation damage or damage to infrastructure. Just a bunch of roasted terrorists.
Doesn't that sound like it should be a headline in, oh just saying, the NY Times, Wash Post, CNN, MSNBC, etc., etc.?
Wonder why it isn't? ;-)
Googled 55,000 Americans in Yemen.
Not one referrence to it in the enemedia, print or broadcast. No surprise.
Whoa! You can say that again!
Thanks for the ping.
I'm agreein' as well ... ;*)
BEEautiful pic you got there, smooth!
