GOP Senate candidate Scott Brown and his supporters are firing back at Democratic senators for accusing him of being a "far-right" politician backed by "right-wing radicals" by virtue of his ties to the conservative tea party movement.
Brown, with the support of the tea party groups and others, is posing a stiff challenge to Democrat Martha Coakley in the race for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts formerly held by the late Ted Kennedy. Polls show him closing in on Coakley, long the frontrunner, with just four days to go until the special election, and the latest survey shows him leading by 4 points.
With the race tightening, national Democratic heavyweights have stepped into the picture and are lobbing harsh accusations at Brown's support network.
Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., claimed in an e-mail that "swift boaters" were trying to sink Coakley, a reference to the ads that targeted him in the 2004 presidential campaign. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., called Brown a "far-right tea-bagger" in an e-mail, using a term that also can refer to a sexual act. Then on Friday, Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., wrote in a fundraising e-mail that Coakley was "being attacked by tea partiers and right-wing radicals."
Levi Russell, a spokesman for the Brown-supporting Tea Party Express, said the rhetoric is a "sign of desperation" from Coakley's backers.
*snip*
...Brown, a state senator, did not come out of the tea party movement, though he is supported by it. Russell said a Brown victory would still count as a "win" for the tea party groups.
Tea Party Express announced Friday that it had spent more than $200,000 to support Brown, with much of that going into a new TV ad endorsing him.

“Shame on Brown for being backed by Far Right Wing Tea Party Radical Extremists.”
ROFLMAO
Is true.
Anyone who is not a left wing extreme socialist fascist with terrorist and racist hate-filled buddies, just does not fit in well with Dear Leader’s Regime and the Democratic Socialist Fascist Party (aka the “Democrats”).
I have one SERIOUS question to all this. WTH is Clinton doing there, and what business does zero have going. If Bush had done campaigning while Katrina was going on, there would have been WAR!
Clinton and zero, need to get to the business of helping Haiti, and get out of MA!
didn’t the Pelosicrat refer to Barney at that press conference as the “Maestro”???
it was either that one or around that time
induced projectile vomiting here
I believe it is the right thing to do though.
Hopefully if he is elected, he will become more conservative.
If not, he will be in trouble when he comes up for reelection
Which will be in 2012.
It’s hilarious to watch the extremes the Dims will go to to win this election. They’re scrambling like cockroaches when the lights go on.
A beautiful thing.
Why is Clinton in MA instead of Haiti?
There’s more ‘TRIM’ in Taxachusettes.

On January 19th, the citizens of the commonwealth of Massachusetts will have a historic opportunity to fire the second shot heard ‘round the world.
Vote for Scott Brown for the United States Senate.
Just say YES to Scott Brown.
LET FREEDOM RING!!!
Is that all you’ve got? ::snicker::
Is that all you’ve got? ::snicker::
Well, yea...
: > )
I wonder what his finders fee is?
It's all show with him and the dems.
Ordinarily I'd agree, but the Brown candidacy is proof that the country is ready for what MOTIVATED the tea parties, and sometimes you have to push a little, you know what I mean?
Brown's appeal lies in that he is perfectly rational. He simply doesn't fit into the mold the Dems are trying to claim he came from. No, he isn't as hardcore conservative as some would like, but to be perfectly blunt, I can't stand some folks who share my politics. It's not about a checklist, it's about looking at the candidate and thinking, "He is a reasonable person, and the areas where we part still make him on balance someone in my corner."
McCain proved that being a "moderate" only makes you look wishy washy and bloodless. I don't think moderate or even slightly left voters are scared of folks who share the tea party goals if the candidate comes across as someone with the right motives--protecting the country, cutting taxes, and bringing much-needed stability.
Just heard on the 1 a.m. radio news that Mayor Bloomberg of NYC announced that if Obamao taxes the banking bonuses it will turn NYC into Detroit.
Perhaps MA will save America.
So there is some good news after all!
Not that it would be good to have that happen, but it would be disastrous for the Present Obama.
The left was bashing Rudy for saying that he thought the bonuses were a good thing. Of course, those bonuses always saved NYC’s hide because of all the income it generated for the city.
But then economics is not the maoists strong point. Destruction is his goal.
And his mother is carrying a FLAG!! Oh, no!! Danger, Will Robinson!
There are two or three trolling around here on FR claiming on every thread that Brown's a left wing liberal in disguise.
Absolutely correct.
