I tactfully asked him WHY he was going to vote for Brown and his answer was: “Because of the healthcare bill Obama is trying to pass.” I carefully agreed with him and reinforced the fact that Obama wants to gut Medicare/Medicaid by taking away 500 BILLION DOLLARS from the system and that if he adds 40 million people to the rolls, especially illegal aliens the health care system would collapse… I told him that Brown is an honorable man and that he is totally opposed to the “healthcare” bill and would vote against it… MY DAD AGREED! I was flabbergasted!
If my own father; a life-long Massachusetts FDR Democrat who has voted for EVERY Kennedy, Kerry/democrat to ever come down the pike, is going to vote for Scott Brown, a REPUBLICAN, BECAUSE OF HIS OPPOSITION TO Obama and his evil healthcare debacle then things are looking VERY promising for Scott Brown and we could all be in for an incredible victory on Tuesday. To this end I am fervently praying.
Yeah.....this really is a big deal.
Even if Brown loses by a close margin, this is a big deal and should be required study by anyone in Republican politics in how to turn aside negative attacks.
Brown has succeeded in appearing above the fray while being tough....just masterful job.

Around here some of my stealth-demwit relatives have said that in certain counties, the label to get elected has to be Republican, but here and there people get elected as Republicans who are probably Democrats by orientation. The reverse is true in much of the NE US.

A highly disaffected Dem will vote for Brown. A moderately disaffected Dem will stay home. The result is similar.

I had read that Brown had appeared in Quincy with the mayor, and thought “wow, Quincy has a GOP mayor.” I now see that the mayor is a Democrat, and he still endorsed Brown. If we could get him to endorse the Republican that runs against Quincy’s own Bill Delahunt in thd MA-10 (the least Democrat congressional district in MA) it could be enough to knock off Delahunt.
Dems in Congress are more radioactive than 0bama, if that is possible.

I agree: this mayor’s approval could loom large now and a little way down the road.
I may be guessing here, but Mass voters know what to expect from government healthcare because they basically had it under Romney. I think when they go to the polls, that’s what they are voting on. I just hope there’s enough of them to give Brown the W.
Irish Catholic Democrats Mom and Dad live in Quincy and will be voting for Brown!
